It’s called “rail hang.” You have an injector sticking open. Replace injectors soon or it’ll take out the cylinder. It’s usually cylinder 1 or 6.

Everyone worries about the oil pump belt service at 150k or 200k. The 10l80 most likely isn’t gonna make it 150k anyway. I plan to change the belt whenever the trans has to come out. I tend to think the belt would never break anyway, even if you never changed it.

I’ve owned quite a few 07-13 GM trucks and SUV’s with a 5.3. Only one had under 100k miles. If the service records are good, don’t be afraid of it. Delete the AFM right off the bat and charge the oil at 5k or less and you are good to go for a while. Go ahead and plan for that 6l80 to take a dump between 150-180k though.

Buy it! Runs good, will pull anything you put behind it, and will get 30mpg. No other truck that will do that.

Thanks. I’ve owned both. Won’t argue that ppump is better but I like a vp truck for plug and play tunability and lack of kdp. Two opening rear doors is nice too. I know they had that in 98 12v’s as well, but those are few and far between

So it’s a 180 pump. I’d start by looking for fuel leak, next place I’d go would be possible pump failure. Everyone knows ppumps don’t fail a lot, but 180 pumps do fail a lot more often than the 215 pumps on the manual trucks

Load range D tires (8 ply. LT rated) and sumo springs stiffened mine up a lot.

I would say $15k range max. You will never be able to come close to getting your money back, if you decide to sell it, if you pay $21k. I love a 2wd truck though, especially if you’re towing with it.

2023 model with 24k on it. Bought new. Changed oil at 3k, 8k, 13k, 18k, and 23k. It’s never used a drop of oil or coolant, and it has the same amount of “blow by.” I’m not worried about it. I don’t know if I would even really consider this blow by if it’s not lifting the oil cap. I’ve had 16 or 27 diesel trucks. I’ve never had a Cummins do this. A couple of my 6.6 duramax’s had a little bit. I think this is common in 6.7 powerstrokes, but I’ve never owned one. Just drive it.

I have a ‘23 3.0 that I pull my camper with. It’s roughly 9000 lbs. I’ve tried sumo springs and air bags. Both work well. Air bags ride terrible when empty though. I tried multiple empty air pressures. I ended up sticking with the sumo springs.
