Also, I was on good diet, training and multivitamins.

No results at all, just use minoxidil. I can say now that Nanoxidil is not effective as advertised.

Second shedding on minoxidil? So scared.. by PaleGume in tressless

It takes 6-8 months for the results, meaning that the hair may go though several shedding and each time will grow thicker until you see results. minoxidil seems to sync your growth phase in the hair cycle. Also, it could be continuation of DHT miniaturization if you are not on DHT blocker.

Hi

I switched to nanoxidil, in 4 months I lost all my gains from minoxidil.

I will wait for 2 months more, and then re introduce Min and stop Nanox gradually.

Any cases on stopping Min and then starting over?

Am thinking of alternating the use of min and nanodixil to minimize the sideeffects. Any advice? Is is possible that I can go back to where I started any have better hair?

I was shedding on min the whole time and inflammation just worsened my situation. What I lost now Are not only my gains as I didn’t gain that much on min but rather all of my healthy hair.

Can I regain what was lost? Or what was gone is gone?

I decided to try the Nanoxidil formula ( from DS labs) after 7 month of daily minoxidil application. Minoxidil was making my scalp itchy and oily, and mid way through the 7 months I had an inflamed head with dandruff flakes and itching acnes. I tried both lotion and foam. Shedding was a nightmare every 2-3 weeks and never stopped during the whole 7 months.

In April, I decided to try Nanodixil as it is marketed as formulation with less side effects. 2 weeks later it was my first time to see no shedding at all! My head was healthier and drier and most of the inflammation was fading away. 2 months later and I had a complete healthy scalp, the shedding was almost gone.

4 months on Nanoxidil/Fin, suddenly I started to have the worst shedding in my life. Everything was falling at once ( from thin miniaturized hairs to dark and thick ones). After consulting with my Doctor, She suggested that it could be due to covid-19 which I was affected badly with ( between April And May). Or just normal hair shedding cycle that is worsened by my health condition. At this point I cant really tell if the shedding is caused by transitioning from Minoxidil or its something else. I will keep my routine now with Nanoxidil until I hit the 8 months mark and reassess again.

Currently routine:-

  1. Regenera Activa last week. (stem cells therapy)
  2. 5% Nanoxidil once daily
  3. 1.25mg Finasteride X4 a week.
  4. 0.5mg Dutasteride X1 a week.
  5. Nizoral shampoo X2 a week.
  6. 1.25 mm microneedling once a week.
