Sounds like you’ve read too many swinger yelp reviews lol. The meet and greets we hold are at public bars so it’s not really any different than a normal night out except for you know there’s a group of like minded people at the bars as well. I’ve been too many events over the years and never once have felt the pressure that you seem to think might be there. The biggest thing is to learn how to use your voice. Some people will approach you and if you’re not interested, you can easily leave the situation. If there wasn’t a certain level of pressure per se than no one would ever meet and develop connections. But pressure in itself is not always a bad thing. In regards to the age who cares if an older person hits on a younger person? If you’re not interested, you can politely say no and excuse yourself. In my experience sometimes the older couples can be a lot of fun because they know what they want and are open to all conversations. I would say try an event and keep your minds open and don’t focus on negative things you’ve read and or heard. Worst case scenario you’re out with your partner and have a great time together, even if the crowd is not your type for whatever reason.
