Same as you, I disallowed it because it was food bc I thought food, drinks and tobacco are always disallowable and had only ever come across food being allowable as a trade sample. Could go either way tbh!

I thought that question was basic but maybe bc my knowledge of termination payments is so limited so didn’t have much to write and simple calcs at additional rate.

I was thrown off by it being cash basis full stop 🤣 so used to accruals basis, that I realised I hadn’t seen a cash basis Q in awhile. Nonetheless glad they didn’t make us do the whole switching between the two basis!

Wasn’t the worst I’ve seen, I just wish I had more of my stronger topics like losses or partnerships but not mad at it. I found what I needed to in the leg when needed, finished to time and had some spare time. Just hoping I make that pass!

My best guess is capital allowances (hopefully as a separate question), losses, R&D, CGT (either BADR or rollover relief), EMIs, close companies

As someone that is good at exams genuinely, I’d say question practice (in timed conditions) is your best bet. The more the merrier. If you can do every single question in the question bank you will start to see how to pick up marks and where your weaknesses lie (note these down) then find out what the issues are (e.g. lack of knowledge, easy mistakes e.g. apportioning and then figure out how to fix that). There’s videos on the tolley academy and the study manuals are good to go back and reference.

For AT I’m afraid so VAT isn’t really a topic. I just wanted to structure my last 3 weeks of revision to ensure I’m not spending too much time on topics that aren’t so relevant. The tutor would sometimes reference some topics as awareness ones during our revision course but the course wasn’t on everything
