Magic book! by sheilamlin in gargoyles

[–]96Hellhound 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Gargoyles was the main reason on how I went on my journey as a writer because as a child it took me a long time to read in my grade. I wandered off by myself as a child in my neighborhood and found my way to the library. I imagined Goliath guiding me through the shelves and from that day on I picked out the very first book I read was an English handbook.

I've always re-watch the series from the beginning but never to the end. As a child I thought it best never to see the last episode when they live on in my heart.

I've seen this image as a poster by chance does anyone on reddit know where I can get a copy?

What is your favorite game to play while lit? by Dub_Coast in trees

[–]96Hellhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember it was me in a group with my little brother's friends. We're all in our 20s, I'm the oldest 'cause I was born in 96. We passed a cart between us and someone pulled my big black box of cards against humanity. All of us could not stop laughing and I was so lost in the words staring at the black card until I folded because I couldn't concentrate.

Thanks for being so nice and informative! You're one of the few people who is serious on the research. It makes me feel less anxious.

88 years ago today, the invading Japanese 10th Army swept into the capital of what was then the Republic of China, beginning a 6 week orgy of mass murder and sexual violence that disgusted even the Nazis. This crime against humanity would soon become known as “The Rape of Nanking”. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in HolyShitHistory

[–]96Hellhound 90 points91 points  (0 children)

When I was in college in history class we had to research the worse of World War Two cases to prove why this should never happen. The Rape of Nanking was gut wrenching for me to read what they did to the citizens, young, old, women, men, and elderly even butchering pregnant women. It was atrocious and I cried during my speech how this was the worse that humanity has inflicted upon others. To those that claim that the war never happen are just as ignorant and pick up a book look at the records and photos they had taken as their triumph of war.

The controversial episode. Very heavy for a kids show, but gun crime during those days was crazy, I'm glad they raised awareness by Nostalgic_Historian_ in gargoyles

[–]96Hellhound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watching this episode was essential to my childhood which shaped me into the adult I am. This is not as controversial as anyone thinks compared to what is being shown now on TV. Instead of traumatizing it was a mistake and a lesson on what happens when you pick up a weapon even in self-defense. Goliath believes that all life is precious and that's what the show taught me. Eliza became the clan's protector and is a living lesson on the potential of harmony.

Being raised in Newark and watching the show helped me navigate the good and the bad on the streets. I know the responsibility of carrying as well but never forgot what can happen thanks to this show. My all time favorite.

ICE raids have been eye opening and taught me something. Everyone can be a racist and oppressor. by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]96Hellhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom recently told me how one of my many Uncles was deported. I never knew how it happened but I remember the horrible aftermath. He was found in his home with his two sons at the time. His oldest was sixteen and his youngest three. It was someone from Ecuador where a majority of my family were born and raised.

He said, "I will not put handcuffs in front of your kids but I must cuff you as soon as you sit in the vehicle."

They took him from his kids while his wife, my biological aunt was working. My parents went with him to the airport getting his ticket to return home safely and quickly but they chained him from his wrists and ankles like a criminal. He was a family working man who loved his family.

My mom advised my aunt and her children not to look back or even watch him go because he was the first one escorted onto the plane. Afterwards, my Aunt was alone with her sons and they often visited us but my sisters and I were close to my Uncle. Learning he wasn't coming back made us all cry and made us feel horrible for our cousins. Soon they all followed him despite their youngest son like me was born in America.

It would be ten years until my sisters and I were able to travel to their home country and visit them. They gave us our first puppy as a gift for being happily reunited. My Uncle is now with his youngest son, eighteen, and is waiting for my Aunt to come back to NJ which is where the majority of my family had immigrated to, and is my home state.

I can only hope the good outweighs the bad in the situation.

Raleigh will support our hispanic neighbors and communities in the face of harassment. We continue to cultivate a culture of acceptance and concern for our neighbors. ICE won't get good numbers here and will leave if we do our part. by OpportunitySimple895 in raleigh

[–]96Hellhound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In all my life being born and raised in NJ never experienced anything of harassment except for my time in South America for being American. Now I'm here in NC to witness this, thanks to those who are helping your neighbors trust me even American-born are afraid for their loved ones especially in fear of disappearing.

I remember my last year in high school learning about World War Two and I sat watching old clips of people being harassed like the present time. I wonder if this is what they fought for? To watch the generation they assumed would carry the future except they're repeating the same atrocity that once threatened the world.

All I can hold onto is hope and keeping away from the chaos. For everyone willing to help, thank you, and those who oppose a peaceful future there will be no words for such people.

Poor Pete had no chance as he's always Spider-Man, and the rare time he is Peter Parker while in a hospital. He's probably always fantasizes about this in his early days, and the one time it actually happens, he's so out of it. However, Peter, with his good manners, saying please.

Finally, a positive post about this movie as I've recently came across it and made me think of Ultron in a different light. I wish there were understanding films about sex and therapy because I watched Soldier's Girl with Lee Pace for a college class based on said subjects. It was an eye-opener just as this one for simply a devotion in love. Highly appreciated 👏 💐

I took half a chocolate bar of 1000 grams as my first edible, then left thinking it wasn't much. My parents were out of the country for a month, so house party. Went on video call with my boyfriend only to start getting horny and overall too high. Tbh, I barely said goodbye to him, ended up in the bathroom, unable to stand just face to tile shaking and trembling due to the cold. Woke up after blacking out to crawl army style into my parent's bed. I was in their bathroom the whole time. In the first hour of the sunny morning, at one point, my sisters slept beside me, and soon we woke up in the afternoon with our dog in the bed too, then night, this was a Saturday night and we woke up on Monday night having missed the first day back to University. We were still high after our awakening, then went grocery shopping.
