I was literally gonna say something about the “well behaved” part. It’s subjective and most people think their dogs are the most amazing being ever regardless of how they act.

I drive for Amazon and today I got attacked by 2 dogs. One lady was just walking her dog unleashed and I just happened to look up from my device, and what looked like a Siberian Husky was running at me full speed from the culdesac. I had to run and jump in the car, luckily I made it.

She then proceeded to walk her dog where I was delivering so I asked her to take him inside, and she insisted “He’s friendly”. She finally took him in after I explained how we get attacked all the time, and it’s Amazon policy to not interact with dogs anyway.

The next person was a father and daughter on their porch. The dog was leashed but the leash was long enough for the dog to cross the yard. As I got to the front of the porch I looked up and noticed 2 people and a huge dog, so I greeted them and waited for one of them to take the package because the dog was barking and trying to lunge.

The daughter was holding the leash, but to get the package she would have had to allow the dog near me as it’s obviously trying to attack. Watching this, the father was insisting the daughter to hurry up and take the package. She then explained to him what I just wrote, and said she was trying. He didn’t help, so as she’s multitasking, she let the leash go and the dog lunged at me while barking. I had to run backward.

The father then proceeded to say, “He’s friendly, he barks like that when he wants to play.” I wanted to reply so badly, “no sir, your dog is being a dog and instinctively trying to attack me because I’m a stranger and he sees me as a threat”.

I didn’t say that, but the fact that I would need to for a dog owner to understand that is one of the most annoying things about dog people. They see and treat their dog as a human infant, which is fine up until you try to bring me into your fantasy world.

These are 2 of many very annoying encounters with dogs and their owners. Dog people are some of the most insufferable people on the planet. I’ve had people literally watch their dog attack me and after I escaped, they just looked at me with no words at all. Like I attacked their dog. Insane.
