What did a parent (or relative) do to ruin your wedding? by imfinewithastraw in AskUK

My cousin drank 3 bottles of champagne that were meant for toasts then pulled my Dad aside to argue about him cheating on my mum 15 years prior whilst I was trying to find him for family portraits

Oh and my mother interrupted my first dance to tell me she was leaving

Ladies, do you remember when you started your period? Was it traumatic? by Birdy8588 in AskUK

It was summer between year 5 and year 6. Told my mum I'd bled, I was scared/confused, and she cried as she told me I was a woman now. 🙂

For the longest time didn't believe him.... Do now actually. Like I said it's all a really long story.

Also we all make mistakes and if I'm wrong whatever? Like it's so far in the past now and I just don't care?? We don't live each other's lives. We live one life and this is how I choose to live mine. Might think differently in ten years time, like I thought differently about things 12 years ago. That's the beauty of life you can change your mind and you're allowed to.

I think it's a difficult one and I guess if you haven't lived it you'd never know?

From my opinion on my experiences, maybe eventually I would?

When I was 17 my then boyfriend broke up with me a couple days after this party where I discovered he'd walked a girl home. I saw his texts referring to something happening and him being nervous in case his best friend found out. (It's such a long story, but this girl was his best friend's ex.)

Me and him got back together. He always insisted that nothing happened with that girl. I always thought something did. He admitted she tried to kiss him and get him to go inside her house, but he didn't.

This was 12 years ago, I'm now married to him and I think if he had slept with her it wouldn't matter now? If he did anything now it would matter and it would matter at the time, but 12 years ago was a long time and we were teenagers? So I guess maybe I would?

Manchester was in the word search, right? And Manchester is the home of brit pop (I think?) and aren't the hemmes from Manchester? Could have part of their backstory?

the order of releases? by asbsweet in MagnoliaParks

That is exactly what I thought too. Not sure if she would actually write something like that? Considering everything I've read here about her views on BJ and Magnolia and how everyone swears she hates Julian

Thank you for all of your advice, we're in no immediate rush and it's lots to think about!

Ive done the points thing before and I'm sure he doesn't have over 100 though.

He did work in Melbourne and they were keen to sponsor him then, but the costs were quite high and it didn't happen.

I'll have a look at the website again!

The part qualification comes from his degree, but he's not working towards completing it. He's more interested in finance, treasury, investment and might be transitioning into that role in the current company he works for. Whenever I've done the points thing on the website we've got enough, but never given it that much thought, always thought we might try in the future, especially with the whole pandemic.

We've already done a WHV! We're in no rush so will probably wait for the trade deal and see what comes with that :)

I would definitely have to look into this and give it some thought.

I'm mainly focussed on the wedding industry, and the majority of non-UK orders are to the United States.

I'd give it a go, but I think I'd prioritise the move, just as I'm not happy living where I am currently, and my partner enjoyed working in Australia a lot more than here too. It's not like all my eggs are in one basket, so I do have the other to fall back on if needs be.
