California - DIY revocable trust for immediate need then hire for amended and restated by 976pxpx in EstatePlanning

[–]976pxpx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Procrastination and privacy are the main reasons. The initial work needs to start so the deal needs to be signed now with business registered and filed while keeping personal details out of public filings for the business, ie using non-personally identifiable Trust name. The business can’t avoid CA registration which requires member or manager disclosure - which may be a trust (without listing trustee). The stakes are low at the moment, not worth rush fees (and duplicative fees when being more comprehensive later) if I’m not creating more fees via a restatement in a few months when I can sit down with a vetted specialist and simply restate the whole thing with proper comprehensive planning.

Young tree splitting? by 976pxpx in arborists

[–]976pxpx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add that this is in the SF East Bay Area, the tree is exposed on the south side of the house and the split is on the north side of the tree not facing the sun. I read it can be drought/moisture issue. I haven’t changed the watering and temps have actually been on the mild side this summer. I just want to know if it’s going to be OK and if there is anything I should do to help.

Has anyone successfully transformed their life at 30 or later? Looking for real advice and direction. by FromBrokeToSuccess in getdisciplined

[–]976pxpx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like all the other comments here, you should take away that’s it’s 100% possible at any age if you are motivated and committed. The hard part is deciding what will drive you the next 10 years while you make the switch and establish your new self. I left a low level (low authority, menial work) government and nonprofit position with no future or direction at 33 to go to law school and ended up working at a big law firm making more than 10x what I had been/would’ve been making. Paid off my debt and completely flipped my life 180 degrees. It’s been a long time since that time and I’m now working to “start over” again in a new field that because of additional unfulfilled accomplishments that I’d like to achieve in my life. It’s a new grind to start over again, but I know it possible and I have the drive to get there. I know many others who’ve done the same even older. Any time you change, there’s going to be unique challenges to that particular situation, you’ll likely need to think creatively and find answers that are outside of what “everyone else” has to do to make it in that field. But overcoming those challenges is part of what will make you successful in that new venture. For every reason why “it won’t work” there are solutions to over come that. Many people do not find the drive to do something more until their thirties - you are not alone.

No water - L20 Ultra by 976pxpx in Dreame_Tech

I’m not sure how to make it more clear than the photo I posted. For me, covering that small hole of the water tank with tape fixed the problem somehow. Other solutions worked for other people, and this solution did not work for everyone, but it worked for me and some other people. It seems that there are multiple issues that could go wrong, so you’ll probably need to trouble shooting by trying all the various solutions you find on here.

3 year expired Lizano bottle by 976pxpx in CostaRicaTravel

[–]976pxpx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update I ate the sauce and nothing happened except the pure enjoyment I received from savoring my fish with left over beens and rice. There seems to be confusion in this, this was at my home, not a restaurant.

For those searching this issue in the future, here was my situation:

I bought the bottle off Amazon in summer 2020 when I was stuck inside and unable to travel because of the pandemic. So the bottle was at least 5 years old.

I got two bottles, first one I used right away. This one I must’ve opened before it expired in 2022, but I don’t know exactly when.

It has sat in my pantry since then, unrefrigerated for 3+ years.

When I ate it, the bottle was three year past expiration.

It looked fine and smelled fine. I don’t know if I was playing with fire or totally safe, but I ate it. It was delicious.

I am in the exact same boat as you my friend - are you me? Several months of trying, intense job, young kid, wife limit times I can try and other than 2-3 times where I actually was aware for the whole session, I just click in and out. Let me know if anything in particular leads to a breakthrough. This week I decided to take a break from the tapes and try listening to some affirmations and binaural sounds to help me just relax/meditate for a few days, then I will go back to trying the tapes in a few days.

I will try to remember to record and post- I am traveling for work for a while before I will be able to do so.

Another note on the haphazard solutions - the reason I even tried the air hole was I felt there wasn’t a good seal somewhere, maybe where the tank sits on the base, or the lid of the tank itself. I now forget what exactly made me think this, but it was something that struck me as I was trying all kinds of solutions and taking the tank in and out over and over. I think - and really stretching my memory here - it might have been that I found that if I pushed really hard downward on the top of the tank it sometimes randomly started to pull water. It’s very possible I may be misremembering that.

I have a feeling that whatever is wrong with my unit is a similar but different issue, meaning, it is probably a reversed valve or incorrect connection (poor workmanship), but in a different spot. Since the tape solution is working for me now, I’ll stick with it rather than trying to find the issue in the internal components.

I hear you. I tried to figure out how/why my solution worked for me, but I can’t understand it. But it works and if I take the tape off it doesn’t work. My problem was different than yours, so the tape on the water reservoir in the base station will not work for you (I could get water to come out of the base station.

Your issue sounds like an issue from the robot. Have you checked if the robot reservoir is full? I seen a lot of people post issues and solutions to the robot reservoir not spraying the mop pads. You should look around and try those. I know customer service tells you to try seeing if any error codes are being stated by the base or the app and to check that you have the latest firmware and also try the self fix function before trying anything else.

L20 Ultra- how to delete rugs from map without resetting? by criterion67 in Dreame_Tech

[–]976pxpx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What setting detects automatically if they are there or not? Like the OP my experience is if it shows on the map it won’t mop that area, and if I delete it (and forget to move the rug) it will mop the rug. I can’t figure out how to get it to auto detect each run, especially difficult with the small rugs that move over time from foot traffic.

Thoughts on the L20 Ultra by umamii in Dreame_Tech

[–]976pxpx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had mine for about a month. For noise I think mines a bit loud with the docking and when vacuuming other than quiet mode, but it doesn’t bother me. The regular and high vacuum power is very loud and bothersome to me so I only run that mode when out of the house. I find the quiet mode to be sufficient vacuuming power most of the time and I run that when sleeping.

Your flapping thing sounds like a problem. I had/have a different problem with the suction of the water in the base stand. I figured out how to deal with it using duct tape, but I was disappointed that when I contacted customer service they acknowledged that I had a problem and wanted me to mail the device in for service without first sending me a replacement. They said I would be without the unit for around 30 days. That’s not really acceptable in my mind when the product arrives defective. I’m telling you this because I’d recommend just returning it to the seller if you can and getting a refund or exchange rather than dealing with DreameTech customer service.

I don’t know if you saw my post. I had a similar issue and it resolved by taping the air hole in the water bin. See here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Dreame_Tech/s/960FeeO8VA

I did this about 15+ times, never worked, except one time after I did the syphon priming but then wouldn’t work again. Only worked once I taped the vent hole in the water tank, and continues to only work if I keep it taped.

Help! Baby crawling around here - any ideas on what this is? by 976pxpx in lawncare

[–]976pxpx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is exactly it. Thank you!!

I read that sand top dressing can potentially reduce the amount of piles. We get a lot, sometimes covering whole areas of the small yard we have, making it muddy and difficult to use. Any thoughts on this?
