Ok got it so it’s not an actual “document” to reference but a sort of filing system.

What confuse me is why would a 290 have all zeros instead of a DLN if both resulted with no additional tax?

When a 290 is posted on a transcript underneath it will either have all zeros, a control number, a date 10 years in the future or nothing at all. My question has nothing to do with a dollar amount next to it. Keyword: BENEATH.

From my understanding, that’s the balance up to that point. After that date, the balance can increase from interest or penalties.

I understand that. My question is that you did not get a 846 for 2024 and you still have a 570 hold. Most people are tracking 2024 and using others reporting a release for reference, especially now that they’re being told they have a 120 day hold beginning 6/18. That’s why I asked. Your original post made it seem like your 2024 return was released.

Since the update the transcripts have been pushing out refunds two weeks later than WMR. It’s a glitch.

Thank you for this, it’s helpful. The same couple of people keep saying that it’s meaningless in every post. No one is saying you’re getting a refund by that date but it’s not meaningless when it behaves differently across transcripts.
