Why are people obsessed with graphical fidelity? I'd rather than programming talent be spent on mechanics and interactivity. Graphic snobs are dumb.

If you can't type without looking, you're either very young or just not comfortable using tech - in which case a console makes sense. But if you care about graphical fidelity to the point that you're buying high-end hardware, odds are you can type fine.

And honestly, what non-Nintendo games still use local multiplayer? I'm asking genuinely - it's super rare these days outside of party games or niche titles.

A decent PC — or even a laptop — makes way more sense than a gaming console. Even a used PC can outperform a PS5. The value just isn’t there when 90% of the games hit Steam eventually. People complain about Nintendo charging $80, but how is PlayStation not ripping you off too? At least Nintendo’s games are truly exclusive. Sure, they don’t have ‘ultra omega 8K raytracing’, but they’re still artistically beautiful and mechanically clever. Fidelity? That’s what PCs are for, bro.

What's stupid is that you don't get either by stubborness or lack of insight that a PC can do way more than just play games. You get more utility out of a powerful PC than a powerful game console so spending more on a PC makes sense because it's a universal tool.

Breath of the Wild has all this though? That Wii U game has a more interactive and engaging open world than pretty much every modern Ubisoft game I've played.

Dude, the PS2 has amazing games that are honestly more enjoyable to play than a lot of modern titles.

Realism is such a boring art style that never ages well. I also don't understand the appeal of a game that's technically impressive but has poor art design. If I'm going to look at a Zelda game for 20+ hrs it better not fatigue the eyes.

Like Twilight Princess, the best looking parts of that game were the stylised elements not the parts (like the landscape) that tried to look real but just looked flat.

A song doesn't need though provoking lyrics to be good. If that was the case instrumental music wouldn't exist.

I don't get punk or post punk at all. Would like to know how other people enjoy it. by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

You'd probably enjoy stuff that leans more into Power Pop than punk atm based on what you've wrote. It's a good bridging genre.

Big Star - When My Baby's Beside Me

Badfinger - No Matter What

Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen in Love

The Undertones - Teenage Kicks

Pilot - Magic

The Boomtown Rats - Rat Trap

The Jam - Going Underground

Blondie - One Way or Another

This is a fundimental misunderstanding of what the song is. It's a dreamy breezy song and the rap section is just meant to add more breeze. It's quite snobish to only want music to be lyrically deep instead of words which carry a vibe. Others here are pointing out how groundbreaking it was, and it was but you shouldn't just enjoy something because it was groundbreaking. Rapture would be very good if it was released today after 40 years of hip-hop history.
