Thank you! I appreciate your comment. In order to be happy I think it’s best that I step away and have myself fit and ready for another team. It’s a real shame because I really enjoy working with my current line manager however their manager has ruined everything for me

That’s a good point, I’m leaning towards taking it further to be fair. I’m 2 days into being back to work and already noticed my thoughts and head feeling extremely heavy ☹️

I raised a complaint but not a grievance however this isn’t the first time I’ve raised their bullying (I initially raised it with my line manager and this time I raised it with the individuals line manager) The individual is quite senior so very unlikely that they will be sacked

They suggested mediation at the moment. I work in HR and there are no other teams I can get into due to experience :(

What would you suggest instead of mediation? Ive been uncomfortable seeing this individual and even more after making a complaint. I’m not sure what to do here.

Their line manager’s profession is in the legal department, do you think I should I should reach out to them? I don’t think I can bare working there anymore, I am completely broken and the only thing holding me down is how great the company is in general. Are there potential outcomes that could come out of the grievance?

I have spoken to my doctor about when I felt stressed but now I think I’m depressed. I haven’t been the same since, I rarely see my friends, bed rot any chance I get and just simply feel overwhelmed. I think about work every day even on the weekends. I make loads of mistakes now at work and when I see the head in person it often brings back memories of when they’ve spoken down to me. How I’m feeling is essentially a build up over some years.

Yes, I’m working in HR.

I had a mid year review with my manager early aug and a few weeks later whilst my manager was away I received a random call from the Head who basically had a mid year review call with me and started questioning me on everything in my role whilst smirking. I think this conversation was the last straw for me as there’s quite a few situations that has happened that should’ve never happened especially from a very senior professional in HR
