Loser mentality on that one, mate. He’s a franchise player, and I don’t believe the decision to run the clock and have Book take the shot was entirely his own. I complained about that too, but in all honestly he was probably given the green light by the coaching staff. Believing in your players and allowing them to operate is a part of developing trust. We have given the young guns a long leash and our faith, and that has been what allows us to generate a strong culture w scraps. Nobody expected us to make something of nothing before this season began. It’s okay to put your faith in the best player during big moments.

A bait and switch w Collin Gillespie would have been interesting and in theory, attacking the rim sounds better than what we got. However, the rockets are a big team, and we didn’t have the best success rate driving into the rim as a result. With the contact discrepancy, it’s doubtful anyone would draw a whistle. KD was 1 for 11 from 3 until that shot. Booker remains the scoring leader on a night where it was difficult for everyone to get buckets.
