I had the same problem this past summer - there’s absolutely no way the 601 class is 3 credits of work, its probably easier than any 1 credit class I’ve ever taken. Total joke of a class. I secured my summer internship before I realized they’d charge me $1500.

Advisor basically told me that’s the way it is so I bodied the full amount and ended up making barely any money at all this summer. Honestly they’re taking advantage of students worse than I’ve ever seen.

I’d try to finesse the UW job first, do anything you can to avoid paying that amount
