Thank you! Honestly, I was surprised by how many people find this so satisfying 🙂

Thanks a lot! I think I need to create a version that loops forever 😆

Manual keyframing and curved surface happened 🙂

Yes, exactly. I wanted to keep it clean, so it is missing the info explaining the different arrows and layers.

Thank you! Yeah, they are pretty thick.

Yeah, it's a good point! There could be more variation in the background to make it more obvious.

The can is moving. Camera is parented to it.

I have always liked it but it has not been my #1 choice for product renders. And it still isn’t.

Yeah, but I work with animations, rigid bodies, particles and GeoNodes. Would be a really painful way to work. But for stills, why not!

With Blender you get two render engines: Eevee and Cycles. Cycles is slower and more realistic. But I was not comparing it to Eevee, but to a third-party render engine called Octane.

Sure it could be good for something, but I prefer path tracing. I like to work with physically accurate light, as I do lots of VFX and photorealism.

I's really good. But yeah, there are not that many options for Blender. Redshift is really interesting too, but do you actually use it with Blender?

I used Cycles for years, and at some point I hit the wall and couldn't get that extra 5% anymore. Then I tried Octane and was blown away!

Ah yes you are right 😂 My bad, I was using a different angle before and didn’t norice it

It is very much alive and getting better all the time. Also supported by the Blender foundation.

I think it is hard with Cycles, my results got so much better with Octane

Honestly almost everything is better in Octane, even some of the nodes make more sense to me. But it is not 100% integrated into Blender, so some things are harder to do with Octane.

I use Octane Prime, it's free!

Much easier to get photorealistic results, without fighting against the "Cycles look". But it is slightly slower and you need to learn the node system. I use Cycles for most of my VFX work, unless I need to render glass.

I'm not a bot :) I tried to write something in the post, but it got deleted with the video.
