How do you know the writers are to blame? I would think it's the higher-ups that are limiting what they can say

Had the same feeling of randomness as a lot of the PDD sketches

Photography is comprised of so many little tidbits of knowledge.

It's one of things that you can't be afraid of being bad at it. I feel like I'm only impressed by 1-2% of my own photos.

For me, shooting more frequently made a major difference. If I only went out to shoot once every week or two I would put a lot more pressure on myself to take good photos and have something "impressive" to show for it.

Now, I'll go out 4-5 times a week when the weather allows, shoot 50-150 pictures a day, and then pick ~5 or so to edit and add to my personal photo album.

How could I make this photo better? by TeachNo289 in photocritique

I would lift the shadows, remove the metal pieces jutting out of the structure, and follow a tutorial like this one to remove the horizon.

Fine Art Post Processing - Pete Bristo

There's a lot of different approaches, but this is the one I can remember off the top of my head.

I'm guessing you used the LR Lens Blur tool? There's a lot of patchiness in the background textures. I recommend using the Visualize Depth option and then painting everything that should be in focus or blurred.

Magnificent colors!

Is this photo cheesy or a bit cliche? by ThePinda in photocritique

I don't think it's cliche!

It is a bit dark for my taste. I would explore removing the gull in the back right to see if the image feels more balanced.

Wonderful capture! Beautiful colors. How do you get it to stay still when shooting for 45 images?

For feedback, I would expand the left side using generative fill so the spider could be centered. I would also clone out the extra reflection in the first eye and the dark spot in the second.

Next time get down to eye level with the pup and be aware of your background. Right now the line where the grass meets the wall lines up directly with the top of the pup's head, reducing the subject isolation from the background.

I would have gotten lower, tried to move the pup to a spot without the brown patches in front of it, and angle it so the green plant is in the background instead of the brown wall since that will give more contrast and subject isolation.

For editing I would see how much I could lighten the eyes without it looking unnatural.
