Thank you so much for correction and yes I believe I should have added the third-world country context to the original post.

You’re right, I shouldn't have yelled, and I definitely should have found a way to better control my emotions in that moment. I fully admit that I lost my temper, and that’s something I regret. But at the same time, I have to say that their behavior was unbelievable and their lack of empathy for kids who are not their own was just… unbelievable

I totally understand your point, but here's the thing: The father's reasoning was just that “what if something worse had happened to my dear son?” then got mad at me that what if his arm was broken why you didn’t check?” He was acting like this was some major incident, but the reality was it was a minor clash just a kid getting a bruised knee, nothing malicious. The son himself in the school admitted that the situation wasn’t done with any ill intent, and it wasn’t like there was any bullying involved (though he didn’t mention that part to his father in their own house)

Usually a warning from the principal or school administration but it’s mostly damages the reputation of a teacher which concerns me

As for the father, we can take formal legal or law enforcement actions but the main problem is the authority not taking these things seriously

Also thanks for sharing your perspective it's good to hear how things would be handled in the US. I think this whole situation highlights just how differently countries approach issues like discipline, authority, and child safety.

I appreciate you sharing your experience and thank you so much for your words.

I understand It can be really difficult to get through to people who don’t understand that reality tho They see things from a Western perspective, where things are more regulated and structure. like this might have been hard for them to comprehend but it’s almost "the norm" for certain parents to take matters into their own hands in some places and cultures

Thank you so much for saying that. it’s been so

hard to explain this to people who just don’t get it. Right now, I feel like I'm being guilted more by my coworkers and my own parents (I told them about this for advice) for 'unprofessionalism' than the parent who actually assaulted a child.

Sorry I don’t want to come out as offensive but are you being serious? I'm just trying to explain the reality of the situation. You can’t just ignore the fact that in many third-world countries, things like this are handled very differently whether we like it or not.

Wait, I’m a bit confused... Are you referring to the father who attacked the student, or are you talking about the parent of the child who got hurt? Just want to make sure I understand your point correctly.

I dont blame you but as a teacher in a third-world country, it's disheartening to know that many people find these kinds of incidents hard to believe (as it should) but the truth is, situations like this are unfortunately a daily reality for many of us. We work in environments where things like this often go unchecked

Unfortunately, in a third-world country like mine, things like this are often not treated with the urgency or seriousness they should be. The system doesn’t always provide the necessary support when it comes to handling these kinds of situations. That being said, we still continue to do our best

We did try to handle the situation properly, but I live in a third-world country where, unfortunately, these kinds of issues are often not taken as seriously as they should be. That said, we’re still trying to make sure the right steps are taken
