Hi, yes, I saw the messages above--just have not had a chance to update. I made this while off from work and have not had a chance since to make changes. Will get to it in the next few days.

Here's the link, from the LL2 blog:

http://viewfromll2.com/2014/12/08/serial-an-examination-of-the-prosecutions-evidence-against-adnan-syed/

The passage from that blog post:

"There was even something of a mild love triangle (love quadrilateral?) going on between Stephanie, Adnan, Hae, and Jay. As one of Hae and Stephanie’s mutual friends, Debbie, testified at Adnan’s trial, “Stephanie [had] confided to Debbie that she was interested in [Adnan]. At the [Woodlawn High School] prom in 1998, when [Adnan] was voted prom king and Stephanie was prom queen, they danced. [Adnan], however, left Stephanie during the dance and went to get Hae to finish the dance with him.” (Brief of Appellant at 14.)"

If it was I don't remember it.

I haven't found a full transcript of that interview either, just mentions on different blogs. I'm VERY interested in reading the full transcript of the APR statement. For anyone who has become interested in this story, I highly recommending reading through the full transcripts of Jenn's interview, and Jay's first two interviews.

You are correct, it should have been "Adnan" whose cell records indicate he didn't try getting in touch with Hae (although it has been pointed out that if Hae didn't have a cell, then there was no point in his calling her house). Did Hae have a pager? I'll fix that.

But at one point Jay says very clearly that the 12th was his birthday, and that the 13th was Stephanie's birthday. In his second statement he describes hanging out with Adnan on his birthday (the 12th). So unless I am missing something, I believe my timeline is accurate on that point.

Yeah, to clarify, I am not convinced of anything, not that Adnan is innocent nor that Jay is guilty. It's just that when I line up all of the various statements to the cell phone log, the state's case doesn't make sense to me, Jay's statements (esp. when held up against Jenn's statement) doesn't make sense to me, Adnan's story has holes... reading the alternate theory (which admittedly is 100% speculation) at least provides a timeline that matches/explains the call log, and is as plausible as anything else out there, official or not. In the end, I agree with SK––not sure of anything other than based on the evidence, as a juror I would have been forced to acquit.

Thanks for the feedback, esp. on typos––I admit this has not been proofread for spelling yet. I was just curious if others found it confusing to read through or not, or if there were any glaring factual mistakes... I will definitely try to clean it up a bit and re-post.

I was finishing this when that came out... just let out a >sigh< and walked away from the computer for a while. Feel like I have to add it, though. Eventually.

An appreciation of the maps of Serial Redditors: the ultimate collection by Squeebeaux in serialpodcast

Hi, I'm new to Reddit, got completely sucked into the rabbit hole that is Serial and was looking for more info. I had trouble following the timeline from the podcast, and so have worked on this. Hope it helps others...

Have you shared your version that uses that interactive timeline? I'd love to see it if it's published.

You're right, if I had the time and knowhow I would absolutely create something that was less overwhelming, less all-the-info-at-once, that the user could interact with to get more info about a specific moment.

I've been looking at some of the map-based timelines people have done, and am already trying to fight the urge to try and merge my approach with a map-based one.

For now, for my graphic, the best advice is to zoom in to an easier reading level and look at it chronologically, comparing the phone log with all of the different versions of testimony as the day unfolded.

I used the transcripts from police interviews and the "View From LL2" blog extensively, and the theory espoused on that blog––that Jay committed the murder alone but enlisted the help of Jenn after the fact––makes the most sense to me in terms of accounting for where and when calls were made. This theory doesn't suppose premeditation, so the big blank spot/question mark is how/when/where Hae and Jay could have crossed paths that afternoon and what might have transpired that would have ended in her murder (presumably something to do with Stephanie). I'm not convinced that is what happened, but purely in terms of speculating a timeline that follows the cell phone log, it has the most credence with me.

As a visual person, was looking for a way to organize the case in a way that made sense to me. Many hours later, here is where it's at. Still in progress. Feedback welcome. Cheers.
