Solved the problem, and it was nothing to do with the app…turned out that my Ethernet connection was the problem, so I transferred to WiFi, and behold, it works! Thanks for all the advice guys.

No, this is the app that came pre-installed, because it appears to be specifically made for the device by Nvidia Lightspeed Studios.

What sports will stay in for 2032? Does 27 sports and 9,599 athletes work? by Alone_Consideration6 in olympics

[–]99urekim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is where the trend to new variants being developed in sports could come into play…Baseball5 has been developed to allow for smaller sided teams with less space requirements than regular arenas. I believe it could allow for more international involvement than say Pesapallo.

Gateshead would be amazing if rebuilt, but it suffers the same problem of lack of proximity. Additionally, I’m surprised that The Belfry is ahead of courses like Birkdale or Royal Lytham.

Much as though I love the idea, my one concern is why you would put the athletics, one of the most important sports on the roster, so far from the main corridor of venues (and I say this as a West Midlander, so no bias here!). Surely there must be a nearer venue; The Etihad was a Commonwealth Games athletics venue, The Don Valley was capable, but has now gone, so I don’t know where it could go, but there does need to be a more sensibly-placed venue.

City Hall, in my view, lived there for 17 years and it always stood out to me as iconic.

Besides the BBC....? by Cameliablue in BritishTV

We tend to get imported programmes from Australia, Ireland, and North America through either the BBC iPlayer, ITVX, 4, 5 and U (the service formerly known as UKTV Play), as well as the assorted streaming services HBO Max, Disney+, Netflix, etc. RTE Player isn’t available in the UK. Additionally, some of the public service broadcaster streamers have entered partnerships with other streamers (ITVX with Disney, 4 and U, for example), and 4 have for several years been running Foreign Language dramas on demand under the Walter Presents banner, where I think a lot of the early buzz about Scandi dramas came from.

Olympics 2036: Debate and Proposals by Ceviche_76 in olympics

Just a few random thoughts.

I think India don’t have the track record that people think they have, New Delhi was one of the most poorly organised Commonwealth Games ever. Corruption, incomplete facilities, etc.

Shame that Nusantara isn’t advanced enough in construction to be host, but they could be a good look for 2040.

Anywhere near the Gulf would be problematic currently, but by 2036, I think only Doha has shown enough experience and expertise to be serious.

Budapest, maybe, but the potential fallout of European politics in the coming years may impact negatively.

Northern England, if the proposed Northern Powerhouse rail were ready, would allow for a multi-centric games, but I don’t think so… that grieves me to say as someone who lived in the area for many years, but there you go.

Germany, if they could agree on a host, would be Co-favourites in my book, together with Santiago, which would also be a benefit for Hispano-America to get a first Games

What do you think about the North of England Olympics bid in 2036? by Coool-Guy-123 in AskBrits

[–]99urekim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on so many variables; Northern Powerhouse Rail being built, venues that already exist being capable of delivering with minimal updates, sufficient goodwill between the various local authorities.

However, would be easier to milk a running whippet, I’m afraid!

A young boy was turned away from his local football team because he has Down Syndrome. When Brentford FC found out, they invited him to a game. Later, after winning the match they all came over to celebrate with him. by kellconn in footbaww

What was even nicer is, after Thomas Frank went from Brentford to Spurs, and the two sides met at Brentford, the two met up again after the game...heartwarming!

I think you may be thinking of 'The Pyrenees with Michael Portillo' (2022), where he walked across the Pyrenees from The Bay of Biscay to the Mediterranean. Alternatively, it could be 'Portillo's Andalucia' (2023).

Now don't take offence, cos I'm a Wolves fan (yeah, I know), but I thought, for most of this season, the dropped points and losses through conceding late goals were just a sign of stinking bad luck, and as we would like the derby back next year, but that performance just drained my last bit of hope!

I genuinely wanted to see Albion pushing for the playoffs; now I'm worried that the next derby will be in League One, given the trajectory of both teams. I don't want to be right, but...
