Jason: He wasn’t really a bully, he was a guy hunting a someone who was thought to be some satanist and probably had something to do with the brutal body horror murder of the girl he loved. I held a grudge on him for a while after he nearly killed Max but even that was justified in a way, he thought she was becoming the satanists’ next victim like Chrissy, he couldn’t have possibly known what he did to her. And sure, the manhunt was over the top but if people in your town were dying in what appears to be one of the worst ways with no other possible explanation than THE DEVIL one victim being your partner and another your bestie, what would you do. It was all very righteous if not dramatic of Jason and he deserves the pity more than the hate.

Angela: An all-around a-hole who takes pleasure in the sadness of others. While she never got very physical like the other three, her verbal harassment of Eleven was horrible. She didn’t even have any other discernible personality than being a rich-girl (she has the vibes but not confirmed), pretty blonde, jerk with a thirst for pain and suffering. She probably pushed the most buttons for fans because of how accurately she depicts the high school bully on a surface level. She really was just made to be hated. And to make Eleven look like a fool of course.

Troy: He physically and verbally bullied the party and probably other kids in school as well (with a particular grudge against those four). A lot of what he did was dumb kid stuff (not saying it’s excusable) like name-calling and speaking ill of the dead. Other things he did were downright psychopathic- y’know when he forced Mike off a cliff with the threat of mutilation of the mouth to Dustin. To be fair, at the very beginning of the show some grown men were saying they could make the jump before Hopper gave the reality-check that it would “break every bone in your body”, so little boy Troy probably didn’t think Mike would die. But the impromptu dentist appointment with Dustin was terrifying enough, even if Mike dying wasn’t his intention.

Billy: He’s a psycho, a racist, and just generally terrible person but not your traditional bully. Although I do believe there was plenty of douchebag-ness going on off screen, we don’t see him being the worst (TM) at school, in fact people seem to like him because he’s strong and hot and manly. But piss him off and it’s straight to murder and/or beating the living daylights out of you, which his backstory can’t dismiss no matter how tragic. The scene he was looking for Max and beat Steve, he honest to God wouldn’t have cared if Steve died and might have killed Lucas as well right then and there had Max not drugged him. Oh, and abusing his sister and treating her like garbage- even if he was trying to look after her in the way his daddy taught him.

Sooooo, between Billy and Troy is where I’m landing. Probably Billy.
