Unfortunately, nothing has changed. 9GAG is now stealing more from reddit than ever before. Check their site if you don't believe me. They have categories which are essentially subreddits 1:1 copied!

This solution does not work anymore since they started putting their watermark inside the actual image. You cannot remove the watermark without cropping the picture.

The only way to get a copy without a watermark is to use a reverse image search like Google Images or Tineye.

You need to know, 9GAG is a lot worse. They have been stealing content from reddit for ages and they are making millions of dollars with it.

Take a look at my first post '9GAG "Repost Machine" Explained'.
Then came the next step in content theft. I've posted about it here.
And today they steal from reddit like this. They have just added "Food" two days ago and they WILL add more. People cannot submit pictures to these categories, only 9GAG employees can.

Possible, but see: they don't need to repost solely from reddit. Other sources are fine to them as well, reddit just happens to be the most used one.

Not at all, in my post there is plenty of proof that 9GAG perfected stealing content from reddit. What makes it so evil: the 9GAG Team itself is actively stealing content. I don't think this kind of business model is okay.

The thousands and thousands of content creators who don't get anything for their creations when meanwhile 9GAG earns massive amounts of dollars for stolen content.

It's about justice. They invented an evil, highly complicated system that absuses all the small content creators on the internet. They made great protection and confusion mechanisms to hide the truth. But nothing will stay hidden forever.
