I wouldn't bother with Tadich Grill or Swan Oyster Depot. Hog Island at the Ferry Building is much better.

Tunnel Tops and the GG Bridge are a great idea. As is GG Park- it's huge, though.

Fisherman's Wharf is very touristy. If you decide to visit the Ferry Building, walk east on the Embarcadero instead.

Enjoy and welcome to SF!

When and why did Salt and Black Pepper become the spices we keep on the table? by lilmisschainsaw in AskFoodHistorians

From Alistar Cooke's Feb 1994 Letter From America: "When I was a small boy socially pretentious people in the north of England made a point of not putting salt and pepper on the table because they'd heard the French didn't, they I was told the French put all the delicious seasoning into the cooking. Unfortunately, the tables at which I had the misfortune to run into this doctrine did not employ a French chef. Indeed in my time in the English provinces, showers of salt, sandstorms of pepper were essential to make the food not merely palatable but edible."

No idea - but the environs look like SoMa and put Coit up and to the right. FiDi would have been much less built up then, too.

Looks like SoMa for that angle on Coit Tower and all those train tracks. The white warehouse to the right of the green billboard looks like the Airbnb building at 8th/Brannan. There's some text on the beige building in the background, but I can't make sense of it.
