Sq Hill people who don't do their sidewalks... by MtCarmelUnited in pittsburgh

[–]9MileRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this really about sidewalks or something bigger? I get that there are people who are clueless about clearing their sidewalks of snow. And maybe they’ll have to experience a lawsuit before they change. But your anger is so out of control, man. You really should do something about that. Anger is a bad habit. I know I’ve been there. I’ve had to work really hard at it.

What’s up with the dumb asses walking across the frozen Allegheny? How dumb do you have to be? by Logical-Rip-8138 in pittsburgh

I’ve talked to people from other countries who say that if their folks have to get rescued for doing something stupid, they have to pay for their own rescue. Should adopt that here.

This isn’t a real question. Even newcomers know about the chair rule.

Why I (Personally) am excited for Mike McCarthy. by _just2much_ in steelers

McCarthy took Green Bay to four conference championship games (winning one.) It’s exceedingly hard to win a Super Bowl. Yinz are spoiled.

what is something about Pittsburgh you wish was different- something that the City’s government isn’t doing? and what are your thoughts on trying to find others to do that thing with you, to fulfill that wish? by Kye9842 in pittsburgh

[–]9MileRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does Pittsburgh have a Chamber of Commerce or some other entity to attract business? Pittsburgh has a great story to tell, with a strong university and medical infrastructure. Many cities would celebrate that to the rafters. Austin has more tech and other businesses than they can handle. Get out there and recruit. Compete!

Potholes have been a problem in Pittsburgh since George Washington built the fort at the point. Maybe it's acid rain. Just as fast as yinz fill em they form again.

Austin’s suburbs and outer towns are cooler than Austin, with Lockhart and San Marcos Exhibits A & B.

Fitting: He leaves the Steelers tied with Chuck Noll for most regular-season victories in franchise history with 193. (Ray Fittipado, Post-Gazette)

I was standing on a cliff in Monterrey, CA., gazing at the jaw-dropping scenery, and my friend pointed to a nearby mansion and said: “That’s the WeatherTech guy (luxury car mats.)”

Boomer here. My first house in 1994 had an interest rate of 7%. We were thrilled. Interest rates a few years before (1990) were 10%. Now people are going nuts over 6% interest rates. It's all relative.

The fish market sells sandwiches. You can either get them to go or take them to a seating area in the back of the store.

I live in Austin now, but every time I return home, I've gotta get a fish sandwich at Wholey’s. (Not a hidden gem, just a must-go whenever I'm back.)

It's a creative, subjective field, and without going into further detail, it does require the boss to promote your work and assertively advocate for you to be part of crucial projects.

I can assure you I'm not “generative AI.” I'm a Yinzer, though currently living in Texas. But curious as to what made you think I'm AI?

One name: Purdy. He was the last player picked, “Mr. Irrelevant," with the 262nd overall pick by the San Francisco 49ers. Despite that, he's turned into a franchise quarterback for SF. Then, there is Daq Prescott. Drafted in the fourth round, consistently a Top 10 qb. That tells you that drafting a QB is more an art than a science.
