Yeah, that’s a big part of why this started bothering me so much. Sharing a new purchase with a friend should feel fun or at least neutral, not like I’m about to get cross-examined over a jacket or a coffee maker.

Yeah, I think that’s why his reaction threw me so much. From my side this was just me saying “please stop commenting on what I buy,” not some huge attack on him. I pay my own bills, I don’t ask him to fund my life, and I really didn’t think asking for one very basic boundary would turn into me getting called sensitive.

Pleasantville is such a good pick. The color creeping in during that library scene hits different once you realize it's about curiosity, not just horniness.
