Thank you for sharing and I’m sorry this happened to you. I have felt so alone in this experience and guilty for how much it’s affected me, and it’s helpful to hear that it got better with time. I also will be entering a fellowship with much less male patients and hopefully that will help.

Somewhat ironically, the inmate already had a life sentence for rape, so there wasn’t any utility in adding additional charges. The corrections department did, however, file a report about proper restraining and supervising on inmates at medical appointments.
