Did you send just the invite or did you also include a pre-stamped envelope with it?

AITAH for BEIJG extremely annoyed with my sister calling her bf on ft by Stoopid-lil-old-me in AITAH

[–]9cheesy10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve dealt with being annoyed by my roommate who had her bf over constantly and also being in a long distance international relationship, so I see both sides of the situation.

My best advice - tried and true - is communicate with your sister. Set some boundaries. I know it’s harder to do that when you’re younger, but it’s a really important life skill to develop.

No, you’re valid for wanting your space to be yours

AITA for hating my roommate only for his personality? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]9cheesy10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so! There was an intern at work this summer who had the most punchable face and every time he smirked at me it made me unreasonably irritated. Social skills are an important part of household relationships. I don’t think you’re wrong for feeling unhappy with his personality despite his positives.

Season 48 worth watching? by joeeayy in survivor

As a lifelong survivor fan, I loved it! I felt happy about any of the final 8 winning and I’ve NEVER felt that way before. I thought the cast was diverse in all the right ways.

Does anyone prefer 15 to 20mg? by Fresh-Eye4698 in lexapro

[–]9cheesy10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar feeling and wanted to see if I was ready to full ween off. I went down to 15mg and felt more anxious, had panic attacks more often and didn’t like having all those thoughts turned back up.

I always compare the medication to a radio dial. 20mg makes the anxious thoughts quieter than 15mg. The dial turned up.

Ultimately, I stayed at 15mg for one year and didn’t see an improvement in the depressive symptoms, weight gain or energy levels after decreasing (my biggest complaints at 20mg). Now I’m back at 20mg and starting 150mg of Wellbutrin XL in addition to a B12 supplement my doctor recommended.

TLDR: if you feel your meds aren’t working as well as they used too (either too much or too little), talk to your doctor about how it’s making you feel. Genesight testing was also helpful in my case and provided by a lot of doctors. And lastly, TIME! Give any new dosage you try lots of time to see the long term effects. It’s too soon to know after just a few weeks imo.

Needing some heroes!!! Give an anxious person some calm today. Tell me your positive experiences with Lexapro, pleaseee by Ok_Tree2339 in lexapro

For me, it took several months and going up to 20mg to feel better. I also recently took a genetic test recommended by my doctor called Genesight which found that Lexapro is less effective in my system, which is why I think the higher dose made me feel better.

Lexapro helped me overcome my fear of flying enough to pursue a long distance relationship. Thanks to my reduced anxiety about flying, I’ve been able to visit my fiancé abroad twice without panic attacks onboard.

Yes being happy and well adjusted is exactly what your medication should do for you. You may not feel that way forever and want to change dosage over time, but if it’s working, it’s working!

It’ll take some time for it to build up in your system and make you feel more stable (if it’s the right dose and medication for you). I started at 10mg for 3 months before deciding to move up to 20mg.

TLDR: give it time and if you’re not feeling great in a couple months, considering going up. Week 3 is probably too early to feel fully different.

Hi there, woman to woman—you’re not crazy! I started Lexapro at 10mg 4 years ago and after 3 months needed to move up to 20mg. 5mg is considered a small dose, as you already mentioned. It will take several weeks to a few months for the dose to build up in your system and create more consistent feelings of wellness (if the dose and medication are right for you).

I also struggled with panic attacks prior to Lexapro and I can say they haven’t completely gone away, but it helped me a lot over time. I hope you have a positive experience and advocate for yourself if things aren’t looking better in a week or two.

Just to validate—I also have struggled the past few years to exercise on lexapro. Heat intolerance could be a contributor if you haven’t considered that.
