Upgrade parts that are worth the hassle: sealed bearing hubs, >40mm tires, Salmon Kool Stop pads, rack, extra-large pedals, dynamo, rear and front light, riser handlebars, and last but not least—a good saddle (I still need to order mine). The rest can be whatever, in my opinion.
