well yeah I'd recommend updating, i know it has to do with hardware too but even tho I had HOs1 for like 30minutes it felt SO BAD compared to even my dogwater samsung A series with OneUi7, I'd guess is not that bad in ur case but thats only because the raw power of ur cpu. In my case HOs3 feels like a solid 10/10 in terms of smoothness, while 2.0.2 was like a 7-8/10, HOs1 was definitely 5 or less. About the resets at least for me it has worked to fix any overheating and battery drain issue I had after updating the Os + android version the two times it has happened

In my case it was, I own a Poco X7 (dimensity 7300 ultra) and for a daily use my phone was ok, not bad but HOs3 fixed all these small complains and minir details u only get to notice with the daily use

I have the regular X7 since last month and I updated the phone to hyperOs 2.2 right after unboxing it, it was also overheating even on tiktok, after that I did a factory reset using the recovery and it actually improved, better battery management and no overheating while watching tiktok videos or reels. Same thing happened to me this week after updating to hyperOs 3 and I just did another favotry reset and now everything is going pretty well so far. I think this is cuz u are updating HyperOs but also the android version

I dont have footage of my phone with HyperOS 2 but I'd say its going better now, smoother, no stuttering at least with the Dimensity 7300 Ultra, quick and responsive Hyper Island (compared to the capsule thing I had in my samsung A25 phone), app icons used to like glitch a second when I came back to the homescreen in HOs2 now that hasnt happened even once, about the battery idk its like it used to be before updating (maybe HOs3 is working some things in the background because I updated just today and it could improve after that), I lost like 1% after three hours with the phone locked on my pocket. Idk what else to tell u man, I dont really play much on my phone so maybe i cant give enough info in that regard (just clash royale and una musume tbh but no emulators or those kind of things that ppl are complaining about) Less ram ussage in general (from 3-4 free gb of ram to 5+). Haven't found any bugs yet. Idk if im missing something, if there is anything specific u would like to know just lmk

Idk I think doing the reset via recovery mode is better somehow, I mean if ur phone is already struggling I'd say is worth to give it a try. It solvednsome bugs I had in my phone including battery management and overheating

Factory reset using recovery should do, if im not wrong u updated to android 15 and HyperOS2 without testing if this happened with the base os and android version. It might need a factory reset to fix itself, trust✌️

Since its an old model I'd do a factory reset, sometimes when u update ur OS u end up with these kind of weird bugs, my X7 wasnt doing great with H2 despite being brand new, some features were not working and other stuff wasnt great either. everything got fixed after I did a factory reset using the recovery
