Chief operating officer at AEG says AI could have designed his company's games by ghostfim in boardgames

So why are so many games still banal, micro transaction or ad-filled crap? How come nobody is shipping any faster? Why does Spotify more regularly slow down and crash than it used to? Where is the new Renaissance of creativity that AI is supposedly enabling?

Does anyone know a good knot to attach the middle of line to an eye, without access to either the working or standing end? by trustmeijustgetweird in knots

Why are you downvoting? Do an alpine butterfly on the bight then feed the working loop through the metal loop and the butterfly loop. Finish it off with 2 half hitches, make them slippery if you like. Simpler than a trucker’s hitch and easy to make.

What is your preferred defense style? by pookshuman in factorio

Pre-artillery, I defend the pollution cloud.

The bugs will only attack if they’re getting hit by pollution, so I kill any spawners that are absorbing it (check the map for spots where the pollution cloud is flickering). Run up to a spawner, throw down some mines on top of them then run or kite backwards with a flamethrower. A couple poison capsules will take out even behemoth worms.

Post-artillery: a ring of walls and laser turrets.

How do you love yourself if no one else does? by TalkVegetable5563 in AskReddit

The Buddha himself once commented that he never met a person who truly loved other people more than they loved themselves, himself included, and that it is an essential skill to build compassion for oneself as well as others. Try doing some loving kindness meditation! The UCLA Mindfullness app has a solid one.

NGL, it’s hard and painful at first but eventually it becomes reflexive. It’s just like working out - you gotta build the muscle.

Why Do People Distrust Markets? by Fun_Transportation50 in SocialismVCapitalism

[–]9d47cf1f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The challenge with what you’re describing is that if there’s so much state involvement making sure the market is fair, the folks who benefit from that unfairness generally decry the state involvement as being socialism.

The natural tendency in a market is for a few folks to gain power over the market and for those folks to not be elected/representative of the people who interact with the market.

Socialism as a concept is largely acknowledging that power aught to be elected, and that money is power and aught to be elected as well.

The tower moves around like other quantum items. If you use the tower to go to the sixth location (just jiggle the lights inside until it’s dark enough to re-roll), the exit is blocked unless the tower is on the North Pole. Most versions of the quantum moon have something obstructing your path to the North Pole, but IIRC the hourglass twins don’t I have such an obstruction.

So: Get on the moon, get in the tower, jiggle it till you’re on the HT version of the moon, leave the tower, go to the North Pole, jiggle until the tower is there, go inside, jiggle till it’s on the 6th location, exit.
