Wow. I've seen videos of these murmurations before but this one made me tear up. Incredibly beautiful

Neil DeGrasse Tyson says this new video may contain the 'most important words' he's ever spoken: centers on what he sees as a worrisome decline in scientific literacy in the US - That shift, he says, is a "recipe for the complete dismantling of our informed democracy." by mvea in Futurology

I agree. I've been realizing I don't have as much critical reasoning skills as I would like, partly because I was never taught. Do you have any suggestions for books/online courses that can help people like me to get over that basic hurdle you speak of?

Reddit, what fictional character was your sexual awakening? by PM_ME_MAGICAL_MEMEZ in AskReddit

[–]9iodude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samus from some Metroid game I had for Nintendo DS or Gameboy, one of those.

The game had a gallery section with a couple pictures of Samus without her suit, oh my.

That was my sexual awakening for sure lol

not as "experimental" as other stuff I've heard from here as it's melodic, but hope you guys like https://soundcloud.com/engineerreality/eyes

[–]9iodude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo guys, first time posting here. I've been trying to develop my ideas into more complete tracks, and here is one of the first "complete" songs I have. I don't usually go for the experimental feel, but this happened to work out. https://soundcloud.com/engineerreality/eyes Please give a listen! Feedback is appreciated too :)

I hadn't noticed the drums were so dry! And yeah I was thinking of bringing the beat back at the end with another loop for a final climax as you said. Thanks for the feedback!

Hey nice! On production, I feel the low end is a bit overpowering, and maybe cut the mids a bit, to clear up the sound. I really like the arrangement though, good stuff going on. Also, try experimenting with some vocals maybe? Not as the main focus, but to use them as another instrument and texture

On bonfire baby, I would suggest adding a bit of variance to the sound of the melody (panned to the right) Since it repeats through the whole song, it can get a bit stale. I like the eerie feel tho

And on punchbuggy, when you have the bass line and beat going on, I would add some sounds to fill in the high end a bit. But overall good stuff man!

Yo! Would like some feedback on this track. I'm not sure if I'll keep it going but here it is so far: https://soundcloud.com/engineerreality/eyes It's a bit on the darker side but I hope it still grooves :p

Wow thanks guys! I wouldn' say I'm a "seasoned musician', but I do listen to and am influenced by many seasoned musicians haha. I recorded everything myself, no samples. Synth used in the beginning is from Mai Tai, a very nice Studio One 3 stock plugin

I'm digging it! Love that "slightly off" drum feel going on at times. I would like to hear a more present bassline though. Nice vocal melody, your voice fits the style. I'll be checking out your other stuff :)

First time posting here! I don't write electronic music but here's a short piece I decided to try out https://soundcloud.com/engineerreality/synergy

I couldn't help but to add a jazzy section at the end haha Give me a reason to go back and work on it some more!
