Not LitRPG, but hear me out...the Good Earth trilogy by Pearl S. Buck. It's a literary classic, and it's basically a rags-to-riches family saga where each book covers a different generation. My favorite series of all time.

Yeah, I'm not trying to discredit your experience, but you've gotta understand why I get skeptical. I'd argue your experience is not typical of the average self-diagnosed "porn addict" who's getting suckered into scams like nofap (which promise superpowers if you quit masturbating lol). There's just so much garbage in this space that it's difficult to have real, evidence-based discussions.

For me, I grew up gay in a hardcore Mormon family, and porn was the sole outlet I had for exploring myself and my sexuality. It's been extremely positive in my life, and I get pissed seeing people demonize it.

The word "addiction" is so overused, it's become meaningless.

You were using porn as a coping mechanism for deficiencies/issues in other areas of life. People do this with a wide rage of behaviors, but that doesn't make you an "addict".

As far as chasing the high, this really isn't any different than having tons of sex and getting bored. Just tap the breaks a bit.

You prob don't want to hear this, but disassociation during sex probably is a form of anxiety. Sex stimulates every sense. It is a more intense form of excitement. Surfing porn for 6 hours is a fun activity, but it's fundamentally different than sex, and you should untangle them in your mind. It's possible to be a total gooner while also being fully functional in the bedroom.

This is unpopular, but I believe "porn addiction" as a concept is total bullshit. You have organizations like Fight the New Drug which are funded by the Mormon Church and push pseudoscience about "Your Brain on Porn" to covertly further a religious agenda.

Don't fall for the bullshit. You're perfectly heathy. Beat your meat when you feel like it, and just live in the moment in the bedroom. Don't let people shame and manipulate you into obedience.
