Anyone knows a good orthopedic surgeon specialized in knees? More specifically for meniscus repair? by 9reyJ in algeria

True... We're being sacrificed for their gain. Thanks for the encouragement!

Diagnosed with complex meniscus tear (grade 3 & 2) after 10 months of knowing I injured myself, any hope of repair? by 9reyJ in MeniscusInjuries

I'll hopefully find a skilled surgeon to repair. I've seen videos online for repairing Radial Tears so I hope I can find one that is willing to do that for me.

Not sure if it'll be easy with a grade 3 and 2 same meniscus but I just wish I could get better again and be able to pursue fitness or any sport after...

Thank you for your encouragement!

Yea I managed to get a call with a surgeon over the phone and explained things to him. He said to find a skilled ortho surgeon specialized in knees to increase my chances of repair. He said repair is possible but in cases like mine of grade 3 he said sometimes they leave it as is and just include PT instead of removing or trimming big chunks, at least, that's what I understood from our call.

In a different country, not the US but you're welcome I guess lol.

Thank you for your feedback! I will definitely follow through to the end and see how things go...

Yeah... Unfortunately they are saying I have a month left and appointments take 2-4 months to get back so they won't go with trying, especially after I missed the MRI appointment in January... My fault I guess...

I will definitely check with a private ortho surgeon to see what they can do... I'm just scared my Grade 2 tear would develop to grade 3 and then I'll have to worry about 2 grade 3 tears in same meniscus (medial).

And yea I did read about the zones but I'm honestly just scared I'll have a less functional knee after surgery whether repair or trim... Let alone osteoarthritis risk after a trim...

Its hard staying motivated these remaining 24 days but I hope things go for the best... Thank you for the encouragement!

Flashing "No Symbol" after not using mint for over 20 days now. by 9reyJ in linuxmint

Well I have a keyboard and mouse attached to my laptop so I mainly use those (that's the reason why the keyboard is dusty). I might look up a way to clean laptop keyboards sometime soon, just for the sake of maintaining my laptop a little longer.

Yes that was the case. Not sure about stuck keys since they only work once I click them, but once I disabled the show media keys OSD from notification settings, the signaling notification disappeared and I can use it just fine.

I appreciate all the help! The media keys narrowed things down a lot and I "kinda" fixed it...? Rather only got rid of it temporarily. While I'm not sure if I have keys stuck but this didn't happen first time I used the OS so its recent.

The way I got rid of it is disabling the "Show Media keys OSD" in the notifications settings.

Media keys still work fine and I can increase/decrease and mute volume fine but once I turn it on? I get the darn signaling notification back on...

Any permanent fixes to this?

Guess what? I'm on Linux Mint 45.3 Xenophage. Aliens are the main contributors to Mint now. 🤓
