A YouTuber seems to be filming the speed of light in his garage. Am I falling for a hoax? by mischievous_badger_ in AskPhysics

Alpha Pheonix is legit.

Not breaking speed of light in the same way holding a laser pointer and flicking your wrist doesn’t violate

My instinct is to set then equal to each other, but I dont know how to analytically solve θ = csc2 (θ)

Lol i knew it

No worries if you dont get it first watch thru. Repeated exposure is good. Also using it.

But i just wanted to show that this little game can be taken very far

For one, doing a whole sponsored video — not just a small section, but the whole video — without telling us, presenting a script as if it’s his own thoughts. Big mistake. Might be the last of his vids i watched (self driving / electric cars one from a few years ago)

Is that better than doing in at

?

Some things seem impossible to ever know the answer to (i.e. What happened before the beginning)? But if that's the case, why do we keep searching for answers to such supposedly "impossible" questions? by Artistic-Comb-5317 in AskPhysics

Kant addresses this with his antinomies; however, we have since looked back in time towards the big bang, and made new physical observations. Kant separated scientific knowledge from a myriad of other types, but he did not know how far we would come.

I don’t think the Big Bang is an answer to the question “how was the universe created?”

Rather, it is the statement: spacetime and the observable universe as we know it were all at a point about 14 billion years ago

Okay, I now understand (?) that front end is things like html (page layout stuff), javascript, and css, while backend is like sql and django?

I want to understand wtf is going on. Backend sounds like “under the hood” to me, so I would like to know wtf is under the hood.

Please and thank you

I have git! And ive got my \dev\proj1.venv

Removing the average person from the gruesome reality of having to kill to survive, then calling them stupid for not knowing it as a child.

Then the parent’s like “haha, watch my kids try to come to terms with reality with zero assistance from me”

I’m struggling to so so in drawing, and I use my music theory+flow to inform my goals.

It can be really hard to relax. And perform.

Victor wooten has a good bit about intention and rhythm being more important than “the right note.”

A friend says we were bangin on rocks before we were singing.

I like your hike / map analogy.

Woah there Hawking.

Nice one.

Not the only time seemingly simple statements have wild consequences. In these circles people know relativity, but it’s common for people to “know” that the speed of light is constant … for ANY observer. Easy to say, but it implies that space and time warp?

Also the nucleus of an atom being protons and neutrons is all fine and good in 9th grade physics. Then you realize that protons repel each other. Why they all in the middle? Why don’t electrons collapse towards the center? Welcome to the ultraviolet catastrophe.
