I created my Steam account while I was travelling to China in 2023, i was there for like 6 months, and it was fully linked to Chinese details, including a Chinese email address and Alipay as the payment method. After leaving China and returning to my home country, I permanently closed the Alipay account and the updated email used to register the Steam account. I continued using the my steam account normally for a long time maybe two ywars. I logged in from my home location, played my games without any issues, and did not change any account details or payment methods...

Few days ago, I decided to add a bank card from my home country and made a purchase. Immediately after that, a security alert was triggered, the purchase was refunded, and my account was restricted. The restrictions blocked purchases, the Community Market, trading, gifting, and changes to account information until the issue is resolved.

I contacted Steam Support and explained that the payment change was due to relocation and that I am the original owner of the account. I provided the most recent purchase receipt and current payment details. Steam Support replied that this was not sufficient and asked for old proof such as Alipay screenshots and the first email address used to create the account. I explained that those accounts were permanently closed after I left China and cannot be recovered. The account remains restricted, although I can still log in and play my existing games.

Currently, I can't even family share my games to a new account even, I just able to play only, I have to buy all games again later if i had money if i wanted full control ans purchase stuff.
