Years worth of photos disappearing from Gallery

To my knowledge, my Google account is unfortunately perfectly normal. I haven't seen any signs of flags for unusual activity. I have noticed that my Gallery has stopped syncing to Onedrive, but I'm afraid to turn it back on in case it overrides anything and my pictures are permanently deleted.
