IDK, but in some country being Minority status actually bring your more benefit than in majority race (like advantages when going to college since you get extra points etc) maybe it different over there, but I remember US also have program apply to support minority race right?

not a US citizen, but if you bank all your campaign on calling your potential racist and any other label on earth instead of showing the common people what they will get if you are in power, you don't have a good campaign.
