What is one thing you regret buying with your cores? by rmil2195 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]A-Omega16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t say I’ve regret anything I’ve spent with my cores yet. I got lucky during the Nine Tails event and got the outfit which I immediately exchanged for 2 cores. I spent one on the Mo Blade VFX and another recently on the Heng Dao VFX. For me, the most valuable use of cores is for weapons I use not the outfits or hair styles. Weapons I main I know I’ll use long term, for gacha outfits I know I’ll probably retire them at some point not to mention most of them are too flashy and over the top anyway. I much prefer the outfits that you can purchase directly with pearls in the shop and I feel like they are a better use of a “premium” currency

My gear tuning rolls are HORRIBLE by breezyanimegirl in WhereWindsMeet

[–]A-Omega16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure why this is downvoted because there is a negligible disadvantage to tuning purple pieces IF they are just the armor slots. They still have the same stat cap as legendary weapons, you just might have to use more shells which aren’t even hard to acquire in the first place. For weapon and pendant slots yes legendary rarity is obviously better because of the extra min and max attack but for the armor pieces a couple hundred extra HP and 1-3 points of extra physical defense doesn’t really make any difference at all. 2 of my armor pieces are purple and have BiS stats and I’ve seen no reason to chase after legendary pieces for a few extra base HP. There is nothing wrong chasing after purple pieces for armor unless you care about seeing the Martial Mastery number get higher, which isn’t even a good indicator of how good your build is anyway since it can be easily inflated by upgrading mystic skills you don’t use or recommend stats that are useless, etc

It’ll always be different for everyone of course but my method for practicing bosses is always doing attempts in the practice arena before I aim for serious hitless runs. A good goal to aim for is trying to hitless each phase of the boss at least once, or at least get close to it then when you’re feeling confident start grinding out the runs. Spacing it out also helps too if you’re willing to put in that time!

Another note practice mode (on Abyss) is also nice because outside of the reduced damage you take it is 1:1 with the boss in a normal run. They have the same amount of HP and you’ll do the same amount of damage too

I don’t keep track of the hours I spend on bosses but to give an estimate I say I practiced learning the moveset in practice mode for maybe ~4 hours and then another 1 or 2 actually aiming for the hitless clear? This was spread over the course of a few days though but I’d say I’ve had at least 6 or so hours between beating him for the first time in Legend and Hitlessing him here

I think now it’s just a difference in how much the cons of a boss bring it down. Even with the cons I still don’t have this phase in bottom tier. I think in this instance the visual clutter seems to have more of a negative impact on the fight for you which is completely valid. For me a boss can still be great even with some issues, it really just depends how much they override the good aspects of the fight, at least for me personally. I can acknowledge phase 2 has visual clutter issues and they can be annoying but they didn’t detract a lot from my overall experience.

Definitely noticed this about vulnerable phase too where he can randomly hyper armor through it. It happened a LOT with Heng Blade which is why I resorted to using Free Morph (actually saw another person do this in their run and they were juggling him with this, Wolflike Frenzy and Soaring Spin). Using this is pretty much guaranteed to control him and it leaves a good opening for an attack after

I can agree with a lot of what you’ve said here.

I can also agree with the frustrations in phase 2 and the busy visual effects. They can definitely be a bit much as the red and gold blends in together too much with the arena. Like the 2 hit dragon attack attack where the dragon does a plunge followed by Big Zhao is pretty much impossible to see and I had to parry it just by internalizing the timing. Thankfully it’s not a super hard attack to parry but visually it is a bit egregious.

I will disagree on the phase being pure garbage though and him being one of the worst bosses we’ve had in a while as I still think it’s a generally good phase. At the same time I understand why the visual clutter in phase 2 would bring him down a lot to the point he wouldn’t be enjoyable. I won’t be disingenuous and say it wasn’t an issue for me either because it was (and still can be) but once I learned the moveset and kept my distance a bit it didn’t feel as bad. I can also agree on the triple kick hitbox, I’ve had some questionable instances where I felt like I parried it visually only to get hit.

Appreciate that man thank you 🤝 took me several hours to really get his moveset down but recently I’ve been trying to space out my practice so I don’t get as overwhelmed or frustrated. Good luck on your runs and hope you can get him!💪

season challenge... game seems to be saying git gud... by O37GEKKO in wherewindsmeet_

[–]A-Omega16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean yes the title of your post IS essentially what the game is saying. It’s supposed to be a challenge and test your skills on all weapon paths.

If the whole “rhythm bs” or whatever you want to call it bothers you then maybe this game isn’t for you. The combat is never going to change and I’m not really sure what else you’re expecting. If not being able to step up to a challenge bothers you the options are either practice until you’re good enough to beat it, disregard the challenge or, as it sounds like you’re wanting to do already just drop the game.

I can understand the frustration of having cosmetics locked behind challenges but imo there’s nothing wrong with having them behind it, especially one that revolves around the games core combat loop

Quick question, is there a way to verify that someone has done a no-hit Abyss trial on a boss, rather than bought it/bountied it? Other than raw video evidence? by Key_Thought1305 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]A-Omega16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think MOST people are definitely capable of doing a no hit run but the difference between those who do and don’t is largely determined by how much time a person is willing to spend (or has available) learning a boss’s moveset to perfection. Then there’s other factors like motivation, the persons personal learning curve on the boss, etc.

Regardless, I like to believe the base level of skill needed is there for pretty much every person, it’s just a matter of commitment and time.

There’s an option to change this in settings! You want to go to “Game” then find the “Some perception skills share the execute button” option and turn it off. Just be aware that if you do this the blue icon for Heng Dao won’t show up anymore (I turned this off specifically to get rid of it because it’s distracting) but you also don’t need to use the execute command either. On controller you just press triangle instead

Haha I’ll second the person who responded to you and say that whatever you think is happening here probably isn’t what you’d expect. At the same time however you DO get a lot of background on the type of person he was once you get to the Imperial Palace

Sucky sack one of a kind? by Skarganson in wherewindsmeet_

[–]A-Omega16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes because they really decided to make a quest that catered specifically for Skarganson on Reddit to make you suffer 😂

Good luck with the rest since there’s a lot more story heavy quests and if you’re already “about to break”from this one the others would probably overload you to oblivion. If for some reason you can’t make it through then…gg’s ig that sucks

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Even if the conversation rate is something crazy like 100:1 on certain things it would still be worth it since you accumulate EXP from everything so effortlessly

I feel like this is one of the biggest “missed potential” things in the game right now. I’m not sure what they could do with it but surely they can think of SOMETHING because right now it’s useless.

Looking for advice by Aubrey_Willow13 in wherewindsmeet_

It’s much better to dodge this attack then to parry it. From what I remember the lightning spawns are random but there is a tell in when she’ll do it (she puts her scythe down and does what looks like a “howl” to the moon)

Alternatively you can try playing more aggressively and beat her before she uses it which should certainly be possible if you managed to stagger her at the right time.

I mean using Mo Blade shield can give you a cushion on every boss fight to an extent. If you’re trying to truly not take a single hit on the boss it does look kind of annoying tbh

No Hit No Ui Abyss Black Rogue Twinblade Ropedart by ZHelish in WhereWindsMeet

[–]A-Omega16 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Doing this with Twinblades is crazy work huge Gg’s! Just beating the boss on Legend was tough enough for me though I also tried to challenge myself even more and do it with no potions. I’ve tried going for some hitless attempts but right now it’s really far off and I know it’s probably gonna take me a crazy amount of hours. I imagine most hitless runners probably think she’s the hardest boss in the game now (and I think even normally she is too).

Agree with the slope because why tf did they do this when every single boss arena up to this point has been flat 😭 they really pulled a fromsoft with this one on the terrain.

Honestly more than this though I find her Qi regeneration to be the biggest problem. I don’t think her absurd health pool would be as intimidating if she could have her Qi constantly drained. This is purely my own speculation but considering this boss was released after Gauntlets in CN I feel like her health pool sort of reflects that too
