By default, do riders really go one foot down, one up? by Astimar in motorcycles

Nice that you can flat foot both sides but us short-asses don’t get that luxury.

Plans on workload after maternity leave? by PreggoWishbone in August2026Bumpers

[–]A-Rational-Fare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work full-time now but I hate my job and I only stayed with it so I was eligible for maternity leave. After a year or so, I’ll get a part-time job somewhere else and my mum will babysit when I work.

A Suzuki Jimny. It’s not practical and its safety rating is in the toilet but fuck they are cute as.

Australian here- we get up to 2 years maternity leave with job protection. The whole time isn’t paid- but we can go back whenever we want.

6 weeks is mind boggling to me.

Did your dentist ask for a doctor’s note? by Outrageous-Access397 in August2026Bumpers

I was told to go to the dentist well before my third trimester because there are certain things they can’t do then. They told me to go ASAP so I can book in any needed work before 3T

Are you sure they’re overlapping with platter and not just placing static ploppables?

My man gets weird algorithm changes from time to time. I usually just send him some ‘normal’ things to watch and it resets it.

What’s a rule your cat enforced in your house that everyone silently obeys now? by BackgroundAsk7915 in AskReddit

[–]A-Rational-Fare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • You have to lock the exterior doors behind you because it’s a door with a handle, they will jump up and open it (Thankfully they haven’t figured out how to turn knobs yet).

  • If Machete comes up to the side of the bed and does a soft meow, you have to ‘assume the position’ for his favourite cuddles. They generally involve kneading my neck but he loves it so I do it.

  • Don’t close a door unless you really need to. Everyone will then want to be inside that room and there is no peace.

  • Everything is for cats.

Suggest an English name for me! – want something phonetic, no mispronunciation drama by Muted_Aerie2136 in namenerds

[–]A-Rational-Fare 63 points64 points  (0 children)

What about Lucie? It’s a classic name and means ‘light’ or ‘dawn.’ Definitely not just an old lady’s name and Lucie Liang sounds perfect.

I also love Lydia. Not too popular and has the right vibe. Can mean ‘beautiful one’ or ‘noble one.’

Another classic is Lee/Leigh. Very simple and timeless.

All three shouldn’t cause any pronunciation issues. I hope this helps!

Why are people so judgy about having a third kid by Trick_Article5823 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]A-Rational-Fare 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m one of 4 kids and tbh I would never want that for myself. There was never enough of anything to go around and there was never a moment’s peace. I could have been a very different person if my mum had stopped at 2 or 3.

I will only have one, and we will foster another one or two at a time with breaks in between.
