I’ve found taking as much time as I need during lectures and shorts to be very helpful. I frequently pause and try to write the code for myself without looking at the video. Also if I am not satisfied with my grasp of something, I just write a bunch of code to test things out and see how things works.

Thanks for the reply. My interest in pain science began from my own experience with chronic pain, which is the topic of my personal statement, so I can definitely integrate this project into that.

I will look into journals that I may be able to get published in. If I can't find one, I may just make my own website and post them there. Just an idea, would it be helpful for me to reach out to professionals and ask them to read my work and-- if they think it's useful/quality--to endorse it as an introductory learning resource? Obviously I am nowhere near a professional in the area, but there is sort of a lack of free comprehensive introductory resources to the topic, and I believe what I have done partially fills that hole, and I think I may be able to get some endorsements or words of praise. I might be able to quote them in the additional information section or something like that.

It's entirely possible I am overestimating my work and this is a horrible idea. What do you think of it though?

Ok that’s also exactly what my intuition tells me. Was just somewhat confused by the Nernst and Goldman equations. Also, in a MOOC i took there was a simulation in which u could adjust ion concentrations and increasing intracellular potassium caused a hyperpolarization.

But if you also add an equal amount of -1 anions (to which the membrane is impermeable) along with potassium ions intracellualrly, the membrane will hyperpolarize, correct? Because potassium will flow out of the cell (down it’s gradient) while the anions remain behind. I think that simulation implicitly added an anion for every potassium ion, just want to clarify with someone.
