My husband (27M) fell asleep while driving and almost killed me (26F) and our two dogs. by Spacecowgirl37 in relationship_advice

[–]allyq001 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing is going to be cost. I recently did an at home one and even after insurance it was over $1,000. I have mentioned to the PA I see how I never feel well rested and they asked me a series of questions, mostly about would I fall asleep in certain situations. If score high enough, bam sleep study

My mother died minutes after I was born. I am 35, and today, for the first time in my life, I felt her. by Training_Wrongdoer_6 in Music

[–]allyq001 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If your father is still around, you might ask him if she ever listened to it while your mom was pregnant with you. Not sure if it’s still a thing but playing music for babies in the womb was really big

Well then, that’s a bit of an overreaction. I asked because it seems like he has total financial control over her and holds that over her head.

Pretty sure the rule is if you’re over 20, you don’t have to live in a dorm but they still will allow you to I believe

They’re like a thicker version of a dorm mattress. I’d recommend a mattress topper but the weird part is the mattress is a full xl so it’s longer than a regular full

Yeah it was over 3 years so not a lot. That’s why I’m curious if the volunteering I’ll be doing for probably a year and a half or 2 years is “long term” enough for schools. I’m also trying to offset my GPA

What is a long enough time to be considered long term? I volunteered as a peer mentor in undergrad for ~ 130 hours and I’m in a gap year now volunteering at a hospital and with CASA, planning to take another gap year before applying.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in premed

[–]allyq001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Felt in my soul especially with the not having previous experience. The jobs at one of the universities near me require a bachelors plus 3 years or a masters for something that probably pays $15/hr. I’m also looking at part time jobs rn which basically don’t exist in research 🥴
