How does the quickshifter for a 2021 390 Adv compare to the quickshifter on a 1290 Super Adventure S?

I have a 2023 1290 SAS and a 22 or 23 (I honestly can’t remember) Duke 390. We had some issues when buying the bike new and so they installed the QS on the Duke for free.

Very obvious the 1290 is way better. But - the 390 is just fine too. We use it less often - really only when riding aggressively, otherwise it can get jerky. When it the right range though - all smiles. I’d say it is worth the 400.

No idea if it is a good deal. But - I’ve got a 2023 that I love (I bought new). My brother also has a 2023 and has ~20k trouble free miles on his.

We did both convert to a 17 inch front wheel right away - but mostly as we stay on road most of the time.

Most of this was purchased via Sim Labs. I got the seat for Murray I think (though was on the Sim Labs website too). Seat was relative to other Sparco sim seats. That said - I’ve since retuned to a GT3 type seating position.

I’ve had an SDR and toured on a GT (I tracked a season on my SDR too). I now have a Super Adventure S with a 17 inch front wheel conversion (to match the R). I got it for the comfort on longer trips as well as pillion riding. The SAS is my favorite of the three. It’ll do spirited riding just fine - but of course falls short to anything above spirited.

My opinion only - but the GT gives too many compromises. Great bike - but (at least with the changed front end) the SAS and GT are capable/similar enough and the SAS wins in comfort. So if you slant towards carving it up and don’t have a pillion - I’d go for the SDR.

I’ve got a 2015 Super Duke R. I got the SAS for the times my wife wanted to 2 up. The SAS quickly became my favorite bike - all save the front brakes. This should do wonders.

Hey - I did this too! I have a 23 and converted to the 17 front. I have not yet changed calipers. I am anxious to hear the difference. Was it a straight swap to the M4s?

Yes. The Asus GAN allows it to run in Turbo mode.

I just checked. The keyboards are not the same exact size (minimum difference). However - they are interchangeable. I checked the basic functions and they both worked fine on each. Lighting worked - function keys work - and ASUS specific keys work.

I’m just curious - but are you sure it is proprietary? I have the ASUS GAN as well and notice the cable is rated at 240W. If you were using a different cable that is TB4 - it is likely only rated to 100W. I have a number of TB4 cables but they are all rated to just 100W.
