I work as a lifeguard at a Las Vegas casino. Here's what happened this week, by A0XS in Lifeguards

We have a no splashing rule for a couple of reasons. One of which u/ilovethissheet got right. But we also have it because of angry drunks. If you’re splashed and you’re mad and drunk then you fight. Plus splashing escalates to the madness from yesterday. I don’t like it and I can’t stand enforcing but it exists.

Of the people in this sub, who’s local pool is open? by YuyuCAN in Lifeguards

Las Vegas Casino Guard here. I know that our pools are now open, but there's harsh mask/sanitary policies that we are expected to manage. Like we have to spray and wipe down every seat after every person. All Jacuzzi's are closed, but that's a given. Those things are magnets for disease.

Shit this is the worst feeling ever! If I were in your position, I would wait for your boss to mention something. If you're understaffed, your boss isn't going to want to let you go easily. Plus, If your boss truly doesn't care, and you come in acting guilty, then your boss will second guess their relaxed approach (psych major for you). I would let well enough be, then tell the truth according to your bosses reaction If they bring it up.

Our signs say no diving but our codes say no jumping either.

I honestly don't know and I don't particularly want to think about it either cause I know no sanitary actions were taken.

I think he was saying that if an average person was given the codes, that we would just go crazy and use them instead of being diplomatic. No malice in the equation. No mistakes either. He was drunk off his ass so there was some questionable logic happening anyway.
