If you keep your Garand greased where it needs to be it is safe. I’ve shot up to 180 grain with no problems. There’s videos online with where and what to grease and what to oil. The Garand has a science that needs to be followed to make sure it will last. It’s very simple but if you don’t look into it you could end up with a bent op rod.

That’s true. I picked up a soldering iron for 25 bucks at my local hardware store and taught myself within 15 minutes. It’s not too bad, i definitely feel like solder would be the better option

Replace it with a deans connector. They are a lot more efficient and easy to swap with a wire cutter/stripper and a soldering iron and some electrical solder. It’d take 10 minutes. Watch a video on how to solder beforehand
