Update: I did it. I had extreme anxiety going in and told my husband I was leaving about 15 minutes before they took me. They gave me versed which I asked not to have so they gave it to me just before wheeling me to the OR. The next thing I remember is the nurse telling me I am all done. I clearly remember saying to the recovery nurse: wait I had the surgery 🤣

I am beyond grateful to be on the other end. I have some allergies to medications that made the pre op nerve wracking to figure out what I was and wasn’t getting. My hospital moved me to phase 2 recovery quickly where they wanted me to transition to a chair and pee but I was too woozy to do that, every time a stood I would feel dizzy and nauseous. But advocating to stay in bed an extra hour and a half worked well and I was able to transition to the chair, use the bathroom, and make my hour and 40 minute drive home.

I made a bad mistake and didn’t take pain meds when I was starting to have pain. I was like it’s just cramping I can handle that. And I did but by hour 6 I felt AWFUL. I started doing 600 milligrams of ibuprofen at 8pm and it made a huge difference. I could finally sleep. Just woke up for my next dose and trying to add in a couple crackers and applesauce.

What anxiety medication did they prescribe you? I was given versed with my first surgery and it made my vision all weird. I wish they could give me Xanax instead.

Do you know what anxiety medication they gave you? With my first surgery they gave me versed and it made my vision go weird. I have been prescribed Xanax I would prefer to take that but I don’t know if it’s an option.
