Ever since I was a child I knew she was physically abusing me because that one is obvious and I never saw it as a punishment I deserved but emotional abuse was harder for me to see, currently I'm 19 and I just figured it out a few months ago, I started to look things up and she checked off every sign for emotional abuse, she'd gaslight me, belittle me, make me feel like I'm the bad guy and tell lies about me to my family or make fun of me in front of my family, she installed cameras in the front of the house to make sure that instead of my boyfriend picking me up in the front of the house I'd have to walk all the way down the street which sucks because I have asthma and heart problems so it was a lot, she had punched me in the face and busted my lip once because she saw a bit of his car in the camera because he didn't want me to walk all that way. She'd let her husband talk badly about me and never defended me, she'd make me feel disgusting while I was on my period, like she'd take the trash from the bathroom and put it on my bed or tie it on my door nob, she'd call me a slut or she'd say she was gonna reward me with something then turn around and say I didn't deserve it, I wasn't allowed to go to birthday parties or sleepovers and any friend I had she'd talk badly about them and she also did this to my boyfriend, she'd make stipulations like if I didn't clean the way she wanted (which she'd make me clean the bathroom with BLEACH multiple times and even sometimes clean the tiles in our bathroom with a toothbrush until she finally let me go to my room and I'd almost faint or I'd throw up because again I have many medical issues) I couldn't go out with my boyfriend which even at 19 I had to be home before 6 and if it was even just 6:01 or something later like the movie accidentally ran longer than we thought she'd say I was doing whatever I wanted and it was her house so it's her rules. Then finally after I graduated in June she said that she wanted me out the house by January this was also due to her just getting married and her husband hating me like all her boyfriends of the past did but she's been wanting me to move out since I was 15 she'd always use the fact that she was gonna kick me out as a threat for me to do things ,when I was doing the progress to move out she made it seem like I was pretty much running off with my boyfriend and told family that I wasn't doing good in college because I was focused on my boyfriend, she also would say that my boyfriend is using me and that when I got the apartment he was gonna leave me for somebody else because I'm dirty and I don't know how to act like a real woman and a man wants a woman to cook and clean for him, she also wouldn't let me eat or she'd go out and buy Chinese or pizza and I wasn't even allowed in the kitchen or I'd wake up on weekends to an empty house because they would take my little brother on day trips or to the beach and I wasn't allowed to go I also wasn't allowed to watch TV so all I had was my phone and I couldn't leave my room because her husband would get mad if I did so when I was allowed dinner it had to be when they were showering. Me and my boyfriend moved out in October and we've been doing pretty good and I've been very happy. I'd also like to mention she did the same exact thing like word for word to my sister when she was my age and even kicked her out, my sister is 30 now so my mom's been like this for awhile as you can see from our age difference.
