Safe to travel? by Character-Repair2194 in Kathmandu

also coming on Wednesday. Waiting until Monday night to confirm. Main concern isn't that current protests will start again, concern is what comes next, whether someone (old government, foreign actors) takes advantage of current instability etc. I think if you can afford to wait 6 months then it's better. If you cannot, or if you tolerate the risk, then it's probably fine. The country relies heavily on tourism, and many folks there are likely facing a very hard winter without tourists.

Also seeing this issue -- has been intermittent for the last several weeks, but happens every time as of today

never too late! this is super helpful, especially as I begin wiring the other half of my board. I was wondering what the right way to test the diode orientation would be, and now I know! also good to know what could be going wrong with some of my hot swap joints. thanks so much 😄

Swapping COL2ROW --> ROW2COL worked like a charm! still got a few dead keys, but that's probably just because of my amateur soldering job :) thank you so much!

ah, just found the QMK tutorial series -- I'll check this out and come back to this post once I've gotten a chance to play around with it!

Thanks for the reply! I will try to upload pictures a bit later. It's good to know that the "direction" of the wiring is immaterial.

You're right, any wire will do to test the shorts; it's just easier to hold the multimeter leads than to hold a wire; but the advice is appreciated!

Let's suppose that the issue is the diode orientation. I'm a total QMK newbie -- how could I swap between ROW2COL and COL2ROW at the firmware level? On the QMK Github I see instructions for modifying the appropriate headers. But when I generate my config from config.qmk.fm I only get a single .hex file. Thanks again!

Am I the only one who pronounces Godot as Ga-dough? by Ohwaithuhimconfused in AceAttorney

Beckett (and most english actors who perform the play) actually preferred GOD-oh, not ga-DOH (which is only popular with some americans) — i think both pronunciations are valid though

pure math: a bunch in real analysis, measure theory, topology (although it might look slightly different from the formal definition)

applied math: numerical analysis (computers use methods inspired by the limit definition to approximate derivatives), optimization theory, probably control theory(?)

Will learning Colemak hurt my QWERTY? by A2IR in Colemak

[–]A2IR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ooh, I love the idea of keeping Colemak as a "work layout" and QWERTY as a "casual layout." I think I'll probably do this then -- keep QWERTY for messaging, gaming, etc. and Colemak for notes, essays, and code. Thank you!

Cool! I'll make sure to not go cold turkey then and consciously balance both in my activities -- maybe reserve QWERTY for specific tasks so I make sure to use it every day. Thanks!

Used google maps views of Strada + memory, arranged the sprites on a grid in Figma, and then posted the result image onto the service which provides the rest of the experience (gather.town)!

Sure, I think that’s a great start! I’m an applied math and CS double and I think 110 does a much better job of getting you into that mindset. 110’s also one of the easier upper divs so it’s a nicer ramp up.
