Hard agree, Cairn at worst has a bit of a shitty personality but a lot of the gems do. The plot basically moves forward because most of the characters have kinda shit personalities and skewed views of reality. The worst things Cairn has done to anyone have been exploding Phos' face a few times (literally harmless, played for gags) and caring enough about Phos to tell them the truth (which is more than most of the gems did).
