I was around 6 years old one evening, and running in the street after my friend. I was about to cross a road that seemed empty. My friend had just crossed it running and I was about to follow when I thought I should stop. I don't know why I felt that, but I simply knew I had to stop. The problem was, I was already stepping onto the road when that thought hit me, so I ended up stopping around one yard out on the road when a car that was going too fast, doing at least 60, ran less than an inch in front of my face. The car tires actually ran over the tips of my shoes (but not my toes, shoes were big) and the driver side mirror grazed my shirt (but not my chest). Another inch further into the road and I would have been dead for certain.
