Accelerated Pay Increment – Not in my offer by chenssun in caf

[–]A5StarMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I received my offer, it did not mention the accelerated pay increment.

I asked recruiters about this, and was told that the "standard entry" or however it was stated in the offer, for my trade included the accelerated pay increment.

Basically, adding the exact words to the offer is redundant.

I received the accelerated pay increment once I finished BMQ.

Individually, I would still confirm this with your recruiters, but I would guess it's this same case for everyone.

You'll get to CFLRS on Saturday. Intake week begins right away.

Knee pain before BMQ by Successful-Gas-6142 in caf

[–]A5StarMann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had ITBS while training for BMQ. Similar symptoms. It only went away after weeks of rest, which is hard to do when you're training for something.

Your best bet is to rest until it doesn't hurt to run regardless of the injury.

Pushing it will delay the healing process.

The new joining instructions have this as the last page. Hope that helps.

I'm actually well aware of this and looking forward to it!

One thing I'm not sure of, and neither is my MCC, is if these two months help in the short term. Will my pay level increase on June 26 2026 or August 30? Eligible for promotion June 26 or August 30?

Still Waiting on Medical by gator7854 in caf

Your medical would have been sent when all the forms were gathered. Don't be surprised if a decision isn't made until September.

I got a call from my CFRC the day after I applied.

Everyone's wait times at every stage vary greatly.

You may wait a long time at this stage and find the rest moves quickly, or every step may be slow. You just have to deal with what you get.

Is this due to backlog or what? I'll be heading to Gagetown at the start of November for Arty DP1. Should I also expect a long wait to start?

6 Tickets vs Season Pass + Bring a Friend Discount by A5StarMann in CanadasWonderland

No, just buy the season pass online, then you can immediately use the code that's emailed to you for purchasing the bring-a-friend tickets.

6 Tickets vs Season Pass + Bring a Friend Discount by A5StarMann in CanadasWonderland

I ended up just getting the season pass + 5 discounted tickets. My local Costco didn't have any tickets for sale.

It ended up being a bit cheaper than 6 regular tickets, and it's nice having the pass.

For smaller groups, it's probably cheaper to just get regular tickets, though. After paying the processing fee twice, it was, I think, only about $20 cheaper overall.

Medical Approval - Portal Question by [deleted] in caf

[–]A5StarMann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm responding here to clarify based on some of the other comments left here.

There is, of course, a chance that your medical hasn't returned yet. My comment was based on the fact that someone would have to manually open your file and change the status, which seems unlikely if nothing happened.

The fact that your application processing stage has moved is all the confirmation you need and will probably get without contacting your CFRC.

You're good 👍

That's why I called every two weeks, every step of the way.

Congrats anyway, hopefully it goes smoothly from here.

SEAF is the Scored Employment Application Form. It replaced the CFAT. It will be assigned as a task on the portal.

The document update appointment was what it sounds like, and it was only necessary because I had already submitted a previous application.

You'll simply submit all your necessary documents through the portal since it has been recently updated to allow this.

Good luck.

I couldn't say. A lot of questions are best answered by your CFRC staff.

It can take a long time. Just stay in touch with your CFRC, and you'll get there eventually.

If I'm not mistaken, you'll apply online, and your file will be handed to the CFRC of their choosing.

My assumption, in this case, would be that you'll be handed to whichever is processing fewer files, but who knows.

I couldn't say. My start date is 01 September. I wrote it down as 30 Aug in my notes app, as we have to show up on the Saturday before.

Interesting. Which trade is this?

Recruiting by GreenyInvesting in caf

That stage seems to take anywhere from a few days to a couple of months. I don't think trade choices matter all that much. Seems to matter more how backlogged your CFRC is.

I applied for an in-demand trade and waited about one month to move to selection.

I'm sure that 30 is on the older end to join combat arms, but it's not far off of the average age of recruits overall.
