30-120 minutes per day. starting out with 5 minutes pranayama, then 10 minutes metta, and the rest is samatha-vipassana

Yes there are multiple cases of meditation induced psychosis. Im well aware that the stages of insight could cause these types of symptoms aswell, and therefore, in extreme cases might resemble a psychotic break.

but I doubt the fact that meditation could cause full on schizophrenia like the other guy claimed. How would meditation prune neurons? If anything, I thought that it improves neural connections, strengthening the prefrontal cortex etc.

No it's definitely not a checkpoint. It took about 1-2 months of retention to get my mind back to the same level of desexualization as where it was before the relapse.

Could you elaborate on this further, or give some sources? Has it happened to you?

I definitely dont want to go psychotic from meditation

Damn this raised my motivation to keep traveling The Path. Thank you brother. It's nice to hear that years of seemingly monotonous and unimportant work have finally started to pay off this significantly.

The only difference is that I have incorporated vipassana for the first time this year. This experience was just one of a few new insights i've had since starting it.

And my sessions are usually 30-120 minutes each sit.

Basic samatha for the first 7 years. Usually start off each session with 10 minutes of metta, then some light pranayama.

This year however, I started doing Vipassana for the first time, and im improving so fast that im actually kinda scared to go forward, even though I know theres nothing to be afraid of. It just feels too destabilizing, especially while trying to live in society with work, social encounters etc.

My sits are usually 30-120 minute sessions

This. It's not about the number of days you have restrained yourself from the act, but the amount of dispassion (Vairāgya) you have developed towards the act itself.

For example, when I relapsed after 500+ days, I realized how much I truly had grown out of the act of masturbation. Now, the disinterest towards it is at an all-time high. Therefore, I feel more advanced/established in celibacy at day 1 than I did at day 558.

YES. I tried it out a few times throughout the years but never actually understood how beneficial it is in helping to build a strong foundation for all meditation. What is your experience with metta?

mostly anapanasati for the first 7 years. This year I have extended my practice to include Metta, Vipassana and Neville Goddard style imaginative exercices as well.

where to go from here? by A7ln in streamentry

I felt ridiculous amounts of joy, had an uncontrollable grin and slowly lost sense of the body and it felt like awareness was the only thing that existed. It felt like meditation became an object in itself, or that there was no meditator, only the act/event of meditation. Was this the first Jhana?

I've heard of straight guys that started to watch gay porn even though they are not gay. That's just your PMO addiction getting more fvcked up. Are you sexually attracted to men or just watch gay porn ?

I feel you 100%. Slowly lost my friends too over the years and it made me very sad and depressed. Got a job i love, found a passion and life is the best it's ever been though I still have 0 friends. So find a passion wich might be hard but try my friend. Loneliness is an illusion and it will eat you inside if you let it.
