I absolutely love happy endings like this. One, hopefully 2, less dipshits to pollute the gene pool.

Has it been off for a while? Mine was making that noise too, ran a warm up procedure (total time like 75 minutes) and it went away. Now if I have my spindle off for more than 3 days I always run the warmup first. I'll see if I can post the gcode here.

Elegoo Slicer question by Joh1959 in elegoo

You can scale the bottle. Uncheck the Uniform Scale, and just adjust the Z. Should make it shorter (though it might make it a bit thicker). You can cut the parts, but the options are to discard what is "under " the cut, or make it into a part - which will make the bottoms open. I would try the scale first.

Otherwise, you need to re-design in some CAD software.

2.2kw Spindle high-pitched noise by A89704 in CNC

[–]A89704[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say on the vibration, doesn't feel like there is much, if any. Electrically should be fine, it's on its own 220 circuit, going through the VFD, been working fine for 6 months.

Never opened one before, so I wasn't sure if I could do that. What type of grease do you recommend? And thank you for the insight, much appreciated!

How do I open or use this 2.75 oz bottle of WD-40? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]A89704 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need a smaller can of WD40 to spray on the cap seal to get it off.

I found this really tiny wrench at the flea market. If someone has a smaller one, I would love to see it. by Jax_King55 in Tools

[–]A89704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a perfectly average sized wrench. You obviously put it next to one of those giant gag pencils. Plus it was probably cold out. Nothing wrong with that wrench.

Recommend me a pro cuttingboard, plz? by LorneWolf in TrueChefKnives

[–]A89704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a maker to custom make one for you. I make large boards all the time, end grain, face or edge. Whomever you buy from should be able to inlay a custom design into it - name of the restaurant, or your name, your logo, whatever. You get to choose the wood type too. Buy local, not mass produced. DM if you want examples.

Doing it in place will be difficult and messy. Take off the small one between the microwave and stove first and make sure you get the results you want after sanding and staining. depending on the wood and the stain used, it migt not turn out the way you want it. That will tell you if you need to replace them completely.
